Abstract

This study aims to analyze Renewable energy in the Qur'an and its application in boosting the economy in South Sulawesi. This research is library research which is descriptive and qualitative by using an economic approach and interpretations in the Koran on verses about renewable resources. This research focuses on the results of data collection from verses of the Koran which show the meaning of new and renewable resources and their utilization in South Sulawesi for economic development. The collected data is processed through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that in the Koran there are hints about new and renewable resources that can be explored from nature such as the mention of solar energy, water, wind, and so on. The Qur'an besides motivating humans to explore also reminds us to maintain the balance of nature and to be careful in using it. Meanwhile, the utilization of new and renewable energy in South Sulawesi has been carried out and is adequate for improving the economy in South Sulawesi, which can be seen from the South Sulawesi new and renewable energy (EBT) mix which currently reaches 37 percent, exceeding the national EBT mix of 25 percent in 2025.
