Abstract

Breksi Cliffs were built and managed for tourist destinations in 2015. One of the challenges in the management of tourism in Breksi Cliff is garbage. The main factor ignoring garbage problems by tourists is due to their poor understanding of the environment and the dangers of environmental damage. So that, we need an initiative from the manager of Breksi Cliff in managing the environment around the tourist site through the installation of an interpretive media that is educative to the tourists about the environment, as well as an effort to provoke tourists to participate actively in order to control garbage in Breksi Cliffs. This research is a qualitative research and it is using experimental method. The study design was randomized complete design with 2 treatments and 3 repetitions. The data were collected by sampling method, by counting the trash in 2x2 m area around the sampling points. The data collection is 6 times with 3 times data retrieval before treatment and 3 times data after interpretative media installation treatment. The result of research based on statistical analysis shows that there is real difference of amount of gaebage before and after installation of interpretative media, where the garbage quantity decrease from 13,4 to 4,1.Keywords: Breksi Cliff, Interpretative Media, Garbage, Experimental

Abstract

Society is an entity where every human individual tries to adapt and blend with his environment so as to form a mutually reinforcing social bond. Social ties in society create a culture that is manifested in everyday life in the form of norm, customs and traditions. Cultural traditions have a dynamic value that evolves in tandem with the evolution of the era. Cultural traditions are no longer just symbols to be understood symbolically, they also contain values that indicate ecological values (on a local spectrum), as well as prospective commercial values. Nyadran Gebyog tradition in Pungangan Village is an affirmation of the people's identity, as it is a reflection of the community's appreciation of the natural environment for the sufficiency provided by nature over the years for the community's basic needs, as well as a capital for economic development through the concept of ecotourism. Ecotourism development that is in accordance with the socio-cultural pulse of the community will produce a good synergy between the elements of the natural and socio-cultural environments, resulting in a higher level of public acceptance of the ecotourism idea. Keywords: Ecotourism, socio-culture, Nyadran Gebyog, Pungangan Village.

Abstract

The tourist sector in Yogyakarta's Special Region (D.I.) Province is growing in a favorable way, as seen by the number of new tourism objects that are developing and continuing to appear. Yogyakarta's main draw is the combination of natural and cultural force. In places like Kuncung Mas, the concept of ecologically responsible tourism is attempting to serve as a vision for tourism growth. The tourism human resource component, on the other hand, becomes a roadblock in the development of eco-friendly tourism concepts. As a result, meticulous planning is required to ensure that the vision of an environmentally friendly concept does not deteriorate and emerge in damaging activities. Keywords: eco-friendly, kuncung mas, human resources
