Abstract

This research aims at finding out whether thinkpair-share model of learning can be applied to improve the vocabulary mastery of the second semester of PAI 1 FTIK IAIN Palu. The researcher focused the vocabulary learning with the objectives: 1) to know the meaning of the words; 2) to know the pronunciation of the words; 3) to know the category of the words; and 4) to know how to use the words in sentences or contexts. The subject of this research was 20 students of the second semester of PAI 1 FTIK IAIN Palu. This was a classroom action research which was done in two months. The researcher applied two cycles during the research. The result of the research shows that the application of think-pair-share model can improve the vocabulary learning of the the second semester of PAI 1 FTIK IAIN Palu. This can be proven by the increase from 8 students (40%) in cycle 1 to 15 students (75%) who got score greater than 75 of 20 students in cycle 2. The treatment was stopped after 75% of the classical achievement has met the criteria of success. Therefore, the application of think-pair-share technique was effective to improve the vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Perkembangan zaman telah menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan dalam hal tuntutan masyarakat muslim terhadap pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, para pemikir dan praktisi pendidikan perlu melakukan pembauran dalam  mengelola pendidikan Islam yang sesuai dengan tuntutan tersebut. Perlunya dilakukan pembaruan dalam pendidikan Islam tentu saja sangat penting karena masyarakat muslim semakin selektif dalam memilih lembaga pendidikan bagi anak-anak mereka, mulai dari tingkat taman kanak-kanak sampai ke tingkat perguruan tinggi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dalam menghadapi perubahan tuntutan tersebut, para praktisi pendidikan Islam harus melakukan revevaluasi keberadaan pendidikan Islam demi masa depan umat Islam yang lebih baik.Kata Kunci: Islamic education, modernization, Islamic school for excellence, curriculum development

Abstract

This research aims to describe the interpretive methodology of Imâm al-Shawkânî in his Fath al-Qadîr. The focus of this reseach is on the method, technique and sources which are employed by  Al-Shawkânî in his interpretation of sûrat al-Fâtihah. This is carried out, first of all, through the reading of the sûrah and its analysis through identification and classification. The research shows that the method employed in interpreting the sûrah is tahîlî method, which is based on the text of the Quran, hadîth, scholars opinions including sahâbah and tâbi‘în. Furthermore, in terms of the technique of interpretation, Al-Shawkânî used textual, systemic, linguistic, cultural and logical techniques of interpretation.Kata Kunci : metodologi tafsir, kitab Fath al-Qadîr, tafsîr bi al-ma’thûr,   metode tahlîlî, metode maudû’î

Abstract

Islam is not a religion for mere ritual activities. It is a total system of life. Therefore, Islam orders all people to maintain the equilibrium of ecology; otherwise, they will risk in exploiting it. Based on this, to avoid people from destroying ecology, they have to be educated.  In other words, Islamic education must be implemented based on the actual problems of people, including the ecological problem. Abstract

Nurcholis madjid adalah seorang cendekiawan Muslim Indonesia yang semasa hidupnya, telah banyak memberikan sumbangan pemikiran tentang Islam di Indonesia. Walaupun pemikiran-pemikirannya tentang Islam banyak mendapat kritikan dari para cendekiawan yang tidak seide dengannya, ia tetap saja berupaya melakukan pencerahan terhadap masyarakat Muslim Indonesia. Salah satu pemikirannya yang sangat menonjol adalah tentang bagaimana Islam harus diinterepretasikan ulang untuk menghadapai modernisasi. Dalam konteks inilah, tulisan ini bermaksud mengungkap pemikiran-pemikiran Nurcholis tentang modernisasi Islam.

Abstract

This article discusses techniques of reading English article. There are some techniques that can be applied in reading English articles, each of which lies on the information the reader needs from the article. The first scanning can be applied by readers to get specific information from the article; preview technique can be applied to relate readers’ knowledge to the issues discussed in the article; the second scanning technique can be applied to conduct review in the respect of general aim of the article, to clarify prior ideas and to verify as well as to give emphasis on certain ideas containing in the article. Kata Kunci: Artikel, Scanning, Review

Abstract

The global pandemic that set by the World Health Organization on January 30, 2020 as a result of the new disease of Covid-19 has made many major changes, one of them in education where learning system are done through online. Online learning policies during the Covid-19 pandemic are the main solution to keeping the learning process going.This thesis aims to find out what impact of English online learning has on students' mental health during the covid-19 pandemic at SMA Negeri 2 Sojol and To find out what factors hindered students in the process of English online learning at SMA Negeri 2 Sojol. In this research, the researcher applied a descriptive qualitative research which were located at SMA Negeri 2 Sojol. Data sources obtained through primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques used are questionnaire and interviews. Based on the results of the questioner showed that they tend to just felt bored, difficult to concentrate, feelings of fear or worry if they are unable to collect tasks on time as well as their difficulty in understanding the material when English online learning during the covid-19 pandemic. Where it is caused by several factors such as poor internet network, residential environment and also monotonous teaching techniques from English teachers.

Abstract

This paper focuses on the using of choral reading technique to the eleventh grade students’ reading mastery at SMA Negeri 1 Kasimbar. The writer applied quasi experimental research design and need pre-test and post-test to both experimental and control class. The pre-test was to know the level of students’ reading mastery ability before giving treatment while the post-test was used to know the result after giving treatment. There was a significant difference score of the post-test of the experimental class (1.495) and the control class (1.235). The level of significance was set up 0,05 with 40 degree of freedom ( (df) = Nx + Ny = 21 + 21 + 40). The result of data analysis indicates that tcounted (3,729) which was higher than ttable, it means that the hypothesis of the research was accepted. Thus, there was significant influence of using choral reading technique to the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Kasimbar.

Abstract

This paper focuses on the use and response of students related to podcast media in literal listening subject to second semester students of the English Tadris Study Program at State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Palu. The author applies a qualitative research design. The method used in this research is interview and literature study, the results of the study show that the use and response of students regarding podcast media is good, this is evidenced by the results of interviews conducted by researchers with students who are taught using podcast media and lecturers who present material using podcast media.
