Abstract

Suicide is an act consciously taken by a person to end his life. The phenomenon of suicide in Indonesia is increasingly worrying. Indonesia, as a country that adheres to a culture of collectivity, also has a high suicide rate. WHO estimates that in 2020 the suicide rate in Indonesia could reach 2.4 percent of 100,000 people if it does not get serious attention from various parties.Suicide is one of the effects of mental disorders that are in the global spotlight today. This study aims to describe suicidal behavior in patients with mental disorders. This is a descriptive study. The research subjects were schizophrenic they were treated in the Installation of Integrated Mental Health Service in Banyumas Hospital. The data were collected  using the Self Harm Behavior questionnaire. Result of the study is suicidal behavior are the desire to die, trying with sharp objects, hitting selves, hitting glass and drinking poisonous substance, and jumping from high building.

Abstract

Sexual harassment is a form of an unpleasant experience making a person uncomfortable. It has physical or psychological impacts. 163-403-2-ED. The research aimed to find out the experience of sexual harassment that causes behavioral changes in patients with mental illness in Banyumas Regional Hospital.This was quantitative descriptive research. There were 32 people taken as the research sample using purposive sampling technique. The data resulted in the distribution of each variable in percentage, classified in the Slovin formula. A questionnaire from the Sexual Harassment Inventory (SHI) was also employed. The average age of the patients who had experienced sexual harassment was 31.53 years, and it happenned when they were 19.56 years. Most of them were male (68.8%), had primary school education (40.6%), and were already employed (53, 1%). The sexual harassment was in the form of verbal and non-verbal abuse (59.4%). It mostly occurred 1-2x (40.6%) in patients with a history of mental care 1-3x (40.6%). The perpetrators were mostly female (59.4%) and non-family members (87.5%). Most of the patients experienced severe sexual harassment (84.4%), causing annoyance (46.9%).In conclusion sexual harassment can be a factor in mental illness.

Abstract

Obstacles in writing a thesis can make students experience stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, frustration, loss of motivation, and delaying writing a thesis and some even decide not to finish their thesis. Coping mechanism is a way of dealing with stress and anxiety by deceiving oneself. Religious coping is one way to deal with stress with a religious approach. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of giving religious coping handbook therapy on stress and anxiety in final year students of the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto. This study is a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. Purposive sampling technique with a total of 23 respondents according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research instrument used the DASS and IROPE questionnaire. Data analysis using Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the stress of students before being given therapy had an average score of 35.57 and after therapy had an average score of 6.61. Anxiety of students before being given therapy has an average score of 31.91 and after being given therapy has an average score of 4.17. There is an effect of giving religious coping handbook therapy to stress and anxiety in final year students of the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto (p value: 0.0001). There was a decrease in stress and anxiety scores after being given religious coping handbook therapy.
