Abstract

Abstract

Colloidal particle is a small size particle with radius between 0.5 to 500 nm. The particle usually floating in a substance such as solid, liquid, and gas. For boundary layer between air – liquid or vice versa, colloidal particle would move on one to another substances i.e. air or liquid in random motion that follow the rules of Brownian motion. The motion could be expressed either in Cartesian or Lagrangian coordinates, but many literatures often expressed in Cartesian coordinates. This article will show the motion of random and colloidal particles in Lagrangian coordinates by using tensor. As the results, for expressing the motion of colloidal particles, the Lagrange coordinates are more simple and general than Cartesian coordinates.

Abstract

Gravitation is a primary subject in junior high school. The concept introducing gravitational acceleration, gravitational force, potential energy of gravitation, and planetary motion cause by gravitation. This paper will describe the use of simulation on general gravitation’s topic for junior high school physics. Planetary gravitation was selected as the topic of this simulation. The result shows that using simulation will increase student understanding in learning physics especially gravitation.

Abstract

The training on photovoltaic cell implementation at At-Taubah Islamic Boarding School, Tirtamulya, Karawang, aimed to enhance the students’ productivity through mastery of renewable energy technologies. This training was conducted as an empowerment initiative to enable students to independently apply photovoltaic cell technology to meet energy needs within the boarding school environment, while also equipping them with entrepreneurial skills in the renewable energy sector. The training methods included the delivery of basic material on photovoltaic cells, hands-on practice in assembling small-scale solar panels, and simulations of their use for lighting and simple equipment within the school. The results showed an 85% increase in students’ understanding of the working principles of photovoltaic cells, based on pre-test and post-test comparisons, along with improved skills in installing basic solar panel systems. Moreover, the training fostered student interest in developing solar panel installation and maintenance services within the surrounding community. Thus, this program contributed to enhancing the students' productivity and self-reliance while promoting clean energy utilization within the pesantren community.

Abstract

The manufacturing process of dies and punches requires high precision to produce components that are exactly in accordance with the given design specifications. Every step in the manufacture of dies and punches must be carried out carefully to ensure that the final result meets the quality and safety standards required in the industry. The manufacture of dies requires extra precision. These are not just molds, but tools that are capable of providing consistent shape and precision in every molding operation. Punches, an equally important counterpart, are designed to fit dies and provide clean and precise cuts on the processed material. This process not only produces tools but also demonstrates a dedication to technical excellence and precision. Every step is taken diligently, from initial conception to implementation on the production line. In the world of manufacturing, dies and punches are about transforming ideas into solid reality, playing a crucial role in supporting the advancement of modern industry.

Abstract

Catalytic converters (CCs) play a critical role in reducing exhaust emissions in motor vehicles. This study presents a sustainable solution by utilizing rice husk waste (RHW) to produce activated carbon, which is then fabricated into honeycomb-shaped catalytic converters with thickness variations of 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, and 25 mm. Among these, the 15 mm-thick converter (CC15) exhibited the most effective emission reduction performance, achieving reductions of 78.33% in hydrocarbons (HC) and 48.23% in carbon monoxide (CO). To assess its impact on engine performance, a series of dynamometer tests were conducted, showing that the installation of CC15 led to less than a 6% decrease in both power and torque, which is considered acceptable for daily vehicle use. Furthermore, the air–fuel ratio (AFR) shifted from an average of 13.38 under standard conditions to 14.19 with CC15, indicating stable combustion. Acoustic evaluation also confirmed that the CC did not function as a noise suppressor, resulting in no significant alteration to engine acoustics. Overall, the CC15 demonstrates an effective balance between environmental performance and engine efficiency, offering a practical emission control solution based on locally sourced agricultural waste.
