Abstract

As the advancement of digital imaging technology, this urges internal actors to be more accurate and explorative in producing visual communication work with photography element and digital touching process. Digital process ability with no photographical ability will produce raw and anomaly visual work of art. Besides, audience is smarter and more appreciative towards quality of visual appearance in several modern communication media. Film poster of Sang Pemimpi is a case reflection of general digital in visual communication work that has gap among communication product content according to the brand of the film. Photography element composition is melted with bondless pile among the objects. Logical photography as bonding bridge of visual logic is weak in execution; where we could see it has less digital process commercial market need with the supporting resources.

Abstract

Indonesia has many ornaments given that various cultures born in this archipelago. Variety of ornaments that characterizes a region refers to such cultural relics from the past. Excavation of the ornaments through the relics of the past with a rich in visual such as Borobudur may lead to the birth of the spirit of love of local product which is based on culture and tradition. Latitavistara relief which is part of the past Buddhist fragment became the main object in extracting visual object to bear a new visual language in the form of ornaments. The design of the ornament with a new visual appearance only used the visual elements of the flora in Latitavistara relief classified according to its clump type. The method used in this visual design referred to the simplification of the form leading to the symbolization inherent to the religious philosophy of Borobudur. Division levels in the pursuit of perfection contained in Borobudur were basis for determining the variations of ornament design generated. The results of this ornament design are expected to be applied into other visual disciplines which is not always be just a mere craft product. The spirit of recycling cultural heritage and traditions of the past to be a creative product with modern innovation becomes inseparable part of this design.

Abstract

Karmawibhangga Relief panel located at the foot of Borobudur is a relic of the visual artifacts that contains fragments of past life with a very high historical value. 160 Karmawibhangga panels tell the reality of people's lives at the time wrapped with a moral message plight. The relief provides a lot of visual references to be excavated and reconstructed again for the benefit of the creative industries today. This research digged one small part of the masterpieces of the past through photography. Understanding visual artists who create these reliefs will be beauty in the show gestures in building a very interesting story to be re-examined. Visual communication through gestures in relief Karmawibhangga enables new assumptions about body language dialect differences to current conditions. Through model genre photography, it is very useful in connection with the development of local nuanced scientific photography. Efforts to develop the traditions and culture through new media are expected to be creative commodity with a very strong product differentiation.

Abstract

The figure of Pramodawardhani is a key figure in the history of Indonesia on the eighth century in Java. With these considerations, efforts to revive the character of Pramodawardhani are to contribute to the enrichment of Indonesian visual reference. At least, relics of artifacts at the time made the history of classical Indonesia experience confusion on trace of the story and visualization of its history. Visual reconstruction effort with fictional approach is way out to realize the data fragments both verbal and visual in visual understanding of the past with contemporary social norms perspective. Attributes that carried Pramodawardhani as being aristocratic Javanese classical land become static character without the frenzied of his supernatural power wrapping as a superhero. The fiction building which legally understands the metaphoric fact into an understanding of the modern imagination is the arena of visual reconstruction in some cases ever. Partial understanding of the history of Indonesia’s visual reference product presented by social media has been widely biased in visual building physically. The main cause boils down to the lack of fundamental studies in visual reconstruction pattern which is too premature to conduct the studies.

Abstract

AbstractDesigning the Batik Motif Based on the Philosophy of Pencak Silat Cimande’s Movement. For the last three decades, the pencak silat Cimande had progressed more than before. The center of development is the group of Cimande’s art environment. This phenomenon has created the using of silat costume as group identity. The costume includes headband and sarong with batik motives. The lack of textile culture and specific motives become the problem. This reseach’s purpose is to find the solution through designing batik motives based on the philosopy of pencak silat Cimande’s movement. Artistic research is forming by using qualitative method with practice-based research approach. The reseach process is devide in two stages, (a) Case study of Cimande’s silatmovement through photography and (b) Visual design process. The result is the basic motives that include main object with Taqlid meaning or surrender to Tauhid, pictured as Kelid movement. The basic motives applicated to layout and hopefully becomming one of the support system to developing pencak silat Cimande as part of creative economyand stimulate the visual creator to participate in developing local content. AbstrakPerancangan Motif Batik Berbasis Filosofi Gerak Pencak Silat Cimande. Selama kurang lebih tiga dekade terakhir, pengembangan pencak silat Cimande melaju pesat tidak seperti era sebelumnya. Pengembangan pusat pembelajaran silat dipusatkan dalam kelompok atau lingkungan seni aliran Cimande. Fenomena tersebut salah satunya memunculkan penggunaan kostum silat sebagai identitas kelompoknya. Dalam kostumtersebut terdapat ikat kepala dan sarung yang menggunakan motif batik. Permasalahan muncul karena Cimande tidak memiliki budaya wastra dan motif spesifik yang memiliki kekhasan. Penelitian ini mencari solusi melalui perancangan motif batik yang berbasis filosofi gerak pencak silat Cimande. Penelitian artistik dalam bentuk perancangan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan bentuk pendekatan practice based reseach.Proses penelitian ini terbagi dalam dua tahap yaitu (a) Studi kasus gerakan silat Cimande melalui fotografi dan (b) Proses perancangan visual. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah motif dasar terdiri dari obyek utama yang memiliki makna Taqlid atau berserah kepada Tauhid, yang digambarkan dengan gerakan jurus Kelid. Motif dasar diaplikasikan padalayout dan diharapkan menjadi salah satu penunjang dalam pengembangan pencak silat Cimande bagian dari potensi devisa ekonomi kreatif dan ikut memberi stimulus para pelaku kreatif visual untuk ikut berpartisipasi mengembangkan konten lokal.
