Abstract

Design procedure for reinforced concrete structure in Indonesia is provided by “Tata Cara Perhitungan Struktur Beton, SNI 03-2847-2002”. This code covers analysis method and basic assumptions that can be taken by a structural designer to design a reinforced concrete structure. An engineer has to design a flexural component, one of the structural component. One of the flexural component is beam element. SNI 03-2847-2002 adopt capacity design menthod in beam element design. This paper will be discuss a simple design procedure in beam element, based on  variabel, which is ratio between /b, with b is the balanced reinforcement ratio. The  value is limited to 0,75 maximum in SNI 03-2847-2002. A dactail failure is guarantee in a beam element with  under 0,75. The analysis that have been done before, produce the correlation between Mn/bd2 and which can be a tool for design a beam element. A simple calculation use the table (Mn/bd2 vs ) will be present at the end of this paper.

Abstract

In terms of structural design of reinforced concrete buildings for earthquake-resistant, the beamcolumn joint is a critical area that needs to be accurately designed properly so that the area is able to dissipate energy in the event of an earthquake. The ability of beam-column joint to deform in the inelastic region provides a structure that has a good ductility, so as to minimize the damage caused by earthquake shaking. This study aims to analyze the design of beam-column connection at the Parliament Building-City Hall of Jakarta. The analysis performed refers to the ”Tata Cara Perhitungan Struktur Beton Untuk Bangunan Gedung”, SNI 03-2847-2002. The analysis results shows that the terms of detailing in the field implementation have not been fulfilled properly.

Abstract

This research has an objective to investigate the capacity of alternative wall panel construction, with EPS (Epoxy Polystyrene) as a based material. EPS with 5 cm of thickness and 1 m of width used as specimens at this research. The specimens reinforced with wire mesh (4 – 150 mm) both sides, and finished by mortar cement with 1,5 and 3 cm of thickness. Each specimen was tested in the laboratory to obtain their flexural capacity and bearing capacity. Specimen with 8,5 cm of thickness has 150 kg/m2 of flexural capacity, while specimen with 11 cm of thickness has 450 kg/m2 of flexural capacity. Alternative wall panel with EPS, can be used as a bearing wall, with 2,9 tons/m of bearing capacity.

Abstract

Slope – deflection equation method is an analysis method to solve statically indeterminate structure. This method is a simple technique to analyze continuous beam, either prismatic or non prismatic. The technique for analyzing non prismatic beam is based on the prismatic beam concept, but with the introduce of some modification coefficient. These coefficients are available in some textbook discussing about structural analysis. This research has an objective to compare the analysis result of a continuous non prismatic beam, with slope – deflection equation method, and result from a structural analysis program (i.e. SAP 2000 v.11.00). The internal moment at the joints produced from this two method will be compared each other. The results show that there is a small difference resulted in internal moment, obtained from hand calculation with slope – deflection method and from software output. The differences resulted from this two techniques are 2 up to 6%. Based on this result it can be stated that slope-deflection method can be used to analyze statically indeterminate nonprismatic beam with some modification factors. The result obtained is nearly the same with one obtained from commercial softwares.
