Abstract

The objective of this study was to apply cluster analysis or also known as clustering on poverty data of provinces all over Indonesia. The problem was that the decision makers such as central government, local government and non-government organizations, which involved in poverty problems, needed a tool to support decision-making process related to social welfare problems. The method used in the cluster analysis was kmeans algorithm. The data used in this study were drawn from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) or Central Bureau of Statistics on 2014.Cluster analysis in this study took characteristics of data such as absolute poverty of each province, relative number or percentage of poverty of each province, and the level of depth index poverty of each province in Indonesia. Results of cluster analysis in this study are presented in the form of grouping ofclusters' members visually. Cluster analysis in the study can be used to identify more quickly and efficiently on poverty chart of all provinces all over Indonesia. The results of such identification can be used by policy makers who have interests of eradicating the problems associated with poverty and welfare distribution in Indonesia, ranging from government organizations, non-governmental organizations, and also private organizations.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to apply cluster analysis or also known as clustering on stocks data listed in LQ45 index at Indonesia Stock Exchange. The problem is that traders need a tool to speed up decision-making process in buying, selling and holding their stocks. The method used in this cluster analysis is k-means algorithm. The data used in this study were taken from Indonesia Stock Exchange. Cluster analysis in this study took data’s characteristics such as stocks volume and value. Results of cluster analysis were presented in the form of grouping of clusters’ members visually. Therefore, this cluster analysis in this study could be used to identify more quickly and efficiently about the members of each cluster of LQ45 index. The results of such identification can be used by beginner-level investors who have started interest in stock investment to help make decision on stocks trading.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to develop a web-based expert system for early detection towards characters of investment of people who will invest immediately on their productive ages. The development of this application is encompassing four primary activities in developing an expert system, namely: knowledgeacquisition, knowledge representation, knowledge inferencing, and knowledge transfering. Knowledge acquisition is a process of acquisition or transfering knowledge or expertise of an expert through a knowledge engineer. Knowledge representation is a process of transfering knowledge into a computer based system. Knowledge inferencing is a reasoning process performed by an expert system to draw a conclusion or a final result. The reasoning process applies a forward-chaining method. Knowledge transfering is a process of transfering knowledge from an expert system to a user (non-expert one) through a user interface of the expert system. This expert system has been tested to about 300 users. This simple system generally runs quite well although there are still some weakness to refine in the further research.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to develop an online application of mortgage loan simulation. This application is developed based on a web application in order to be accessible anywhere and anytime. This application is expected to help prospective property’s consumers calculate their financial plans related to decisions concerning the amount of down payment, loan term, and the mortgage system model to be selected. There are two models of mortgage in this application. The first is a fixed and cap rate of interest, with the first three years of the mortgage interest rate of 9.75%, the fourth and fifth year interest of 10%, and the sixth year onwards using a rate cap interest with the indication of 12%. The second model is a 2-year fixed rate mortgage with the first two years rate of 8.5% and the third year onwards using adjustable rate mortgage of interest with the indication of 12%. Calculation formula and the interest rates in this application are obtained from Bank XYZ which is in turn applied in collaboration with financial portal www.kontan.co.id. This application has been tested by over 1000 users and the results are well proven and valid.
