Abstract

There are a great number of researches and writings deal with the Javanese language. Its scopes and domains have been such an attractive topics to be discussed globally. The Javanese language spoken in Pemalang is not an exception. However, some aspects of the language have not been disscussed yet, such as lexicon of tools and rice-farming activities. This research focuses on the lexicon of tools and rice-farming activities in Pemalang subdialect. The aim of the research is to inventory lexemes in such domain, describes their meanings, and identifies lexemes in common semantic fields. The writer uses recording and note-taking technique in collecting data. Based on the data, the writer identifies some lexemes of tools, such asblak, luku, garu, korokan, peret, pacul, andpancong; and lexemes of activities, such asnyebar, ngluku, nggaru, tandur, ngorok, derep, matun, gampung, nggejok, lajo, mbaron, pelanggaran, meret, and nggaleng. Based on the analysis, the writer finds that (1) the lexemes nggaru-ngluku,pacul-pancong as well as nggejog and meret share common semantic field and (2) some lexemes have officiallybeing part of the Indonesian lexicon, such as matun, derep, luku, and garu.

Abstract

 The tittle of the research is “Alternatives of the Verb Defeating in Indonesia Online Sport News”. The writer focuses discussion on (1) certain alternatives of the verb defeating and (2) tries to identify their shared semantic components. The purposes of the research then are to figures out the alternatives to the verb defeating and identifies its shared semantic features. The writer uses note-taking technique in collecting data. The data are then inventoried and verified to meet the purpose of the research. Based on the findings, the journalist follow certain convention on when to use such alternative verbs. The appearance of these alternatives verbs are of course to avoid the journalist’s stereotype in writing news and make readers more comfortable in reading ones.  AbstrakJudul penelitian ini adalah “Alternatif Verba Mengalahkan dalam Berita Olahraga di Media Daring Indonesia”. Fokus masalah penelitian ini ada dua, yaitu (1) mencari alternatif verba mengalahkan dan (2) mengidentifikasi fitur makna yang sama. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah menginventarisasi alternatif verba mengalahkan dan mengidentifikasi fitur makna yang serupa di antara verba tersebut. Teknik yang digunakan dalam menyediakan data adalah teknik catat. Data sebagian besar berupa kalimat dan merupakan judul artikel berita. Data kemudian diinventarisasi dan diidentifikasi sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian. Berdasarkan temuan, wartawan tidak secara serampangan dalam menentukan alternatif verba mengalahkan. Mereka mengikuti konvensi tertentu. Kehadiran alternatif verba mengalahkan bertujuan untuk menghindari kebosanan wartawan dan pembaca dalam membaca berita.
