Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of the use of wikis on the ability to understand semantic meaning of English. At the beginning of the study, a reading comprehension proficiency test was administered for two groups of students in order to determine the level of reading comprehension skills. Then the pre-test were given to the students of both control and experimental groups. After the pre-test, students in both groups for 6 weeks and every week for two hours were trained for learning English reading comprehension proficiency skills. The difference is that students in the control group were trained in traditional way and the students in experimental group were trained by using wikis. At the end of four weeks, the post test was administered for students in both groups. Four standard tools were used for data collection in this study. At first reading comprehension proficiency test was given to two groups in order to determine the level of reading comprehension skills. The second tool was a test that was used as pre-test, post-test and delayed post-test. The third instrument was reading comprehension texts that were selected from different sites of Wiki (e.g., Wikipedia, Wiki Facebook, wiki, wiki Dick, Wiki News) in both form of offline and online will be available to students. The fourth instrument was Systematic Functional Grammar (SFG) scale for difficulty level of texts (Shokrpour, 2004). The descriptive statistics indicators such as frequency, mean and standard deviation of scores and in the inferential part in order to examining the hypothesis, one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used. The results showed that the use of wikis increase the ability to understand the semantic meaning of words

Abstract

The present study determined the effectiveness of augmented reality on the social skills of children with high Functioning autism. The present study was a quasi-experimental study with a posttest test with a control group. The statistical population of the present study included all children with autism with high performance in Andimeshk in 2019. Participants included 20 children with high-functioning autism who were selected by available sampling method and randomly selected in the experimental and control groups. They were evaluated using the Bellini social profile, and then augmented reality was performed on the experimental group in 10 45-minute sessions, while not on the control group. The findings were analyzed using covariance analysis and showed that the augmented reality intervention program had an effect on the social skills of children with high-functioning autism. Based on these results, augmented reality intervention program can be considered as a priority for rehabilitation of children with autism with high performance.

Abstract

This study addresses the educational challenges faced by students in rural multi-grade classes in the context of the global epidemic of Covid 19. Rural students in this course face unprecedented challenges in trying to adapt to a new way of life and learning. This study was conducted with the aim of creating a better future for these students and in line with critical research of the current situation. In order to collect data, participatory action research method was used. A total of 12 students from elementary multi-grade classes (fourth, fifth and sixth grades) and 6 teachers participated in this study. This study answers two key questions: What are the learning challenges for rural learners during Covid 19? How can their teaching and learning be enhanced? The results showed that while our education decision-making system promoted online learning as the only alternative at the time, many rural students were deprived of teaching and learning. This is due to reasons such as lack of hardware resources for Internet connection, lack of Internet network coverage in many villages, poor learning management system, economic poverty, heavy financial cost of Internet use, weakness or lack of necessary technological knowledge in some Rural teachers, the lack of Internet cafes in rural areas, the lack of fixed ADSL Internet in rural areas, has not been able to meet the educational needs of rural students.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to design a model to improve the quality of e-learning at Farhangian University of Khuzestan Province. For this research, the mixed research method of sequential exploratory type has been used. The statistical population of the research consists of a number of managers and officials of Farhangian University, experts, thinkers and prominent professors of this university. In the qualitative part of the research, sampling was done purposefully and in the quantitative part, the sampling method was stratified-random. The qualitative method of content analysis was used to construct the model and the quantitative descriptive-analytical method was used to test the model and the correlation type based on the structural equation model was used. The results of 15 interviews conducted, through open and axial coding (using Max QDA Pro version software), led to the extraction of 142 concept codes and 12 main categories, which are management and infrastructure, program Courses, objectives, content, educational media, social, cultural and moral factors, economic factors, human factors, interaction, teaching and learning, evaluation and homework and support infrastructure. Given that the T-value for 5 relationships related to the research hypotheses is more than 0.95, this means a good fit of the model.
