Abstract

An Action Research was done in class x.7 of SMAN 1 Pekanbaru becausestudents’ achievement tends to be decreased that is caused by the minimal participation ofthe students in learning process even though it is in discussion classes. The research subjectis class x.7 that consists of 13 male student and 16 females. The method of CooperationLearning Type TGT is one of the suitable methods to make students involved more activeand creative in learning process. In Research was done in two cyeles of 8 meetings, the firstand the fifth meeting were the experimental class. At the end of meetings there was atournament to gather group ccore. Every cycles was ended by daily test and observationsheet. The Result of the research shows that there is increasing of students’ participation inlearning process during the class observation. There is also a significant increasing ofstudents’ achievement from cycle 1 to cycle 2 that the increasing of the average score of55,35 to 70,17 in cycle 1 and 72,62 in cycle 2. The number of students who passed KKM(minimal score) is also increased from 6 students (20,69%) to 18 students (62,07%) and 23students (79,31%). However, the classical students’ achievement couldn’t pass 85% yetwhether in cycle 1 or in cycle 2.

Abstract

Student is interest in learning hasn’t reached the National Education Standard goal andpurposes. Students intended to be passive and less creative in way to find their own concept of easylearning and towards the concept of studying it self. The research model of cooperative learning typeSTAD has been done for 2 cycles with 5 time meetings in class X.3. In every meeting study groupapplied then each group presented their material one by one to be proceed to quizzes. One cyclesclosed with daily review. Before treatment only 14 student out of 31 student in class X.3 who areeligible in KKM standard. After cooperative learning method type STAD has applied the students whofulfilled the KKM standard rose into 20 student during first cycle and added into 22 student for cycle 2.This model of learning has contributed to the increasing of the score even though percentage does not yet climb to 85% (45,16% before treatment, 64,52% first cycle, 70,97% second cycle). Roughlyscore for UH 1 (7,33), UH2 (7,99). The average students score for cycle one is 7,20 and 8,07 forcycle two. Student has not yet in a state of brave to communicate their minds meanwhile the rest ofcategories are fine yet excellent.Key Words : Applied Cooperative Learning, Biology, and Result of Study

Abstract

Peserta didik sebelumnya yang memenuhi KKM hanya 10 orang dari 36 (20%). Pada siklussatu peserta didik yang memenuhi KKM mencapai 88,6% (31 orang dari 35) sehingga ketuntasan kelastercapai. Rata-rata UH 1 sebesar 7,91. Peran serta dalam belajar terjadi peningkatan, sebelumnya hanya 2orang (5.6%) yang selalu aktif pada siklus satu rata-rata menjadi 10 orang (28,6%) setiap pertemuan.Pada siklus dua terjadi penurunan dibandingkan dari siklus satu. Ketuntasan kelas tidak tercapai karenayang memenuhi KKM 26 orang (74,29%), rata-rata UH 2 sebesar 7,32. Partisipasi peserta didik jugamengalami penurunan rata-rata hanya 5 orang (14,26%) setiap pertemuan. Namun secara keseluruhanmasih lebih baik dari proses pembelajaran sebelumnya.
