Abstract

Referring to the understanding of landscape as a cultural construct, the notion of the cultural landscape is constituted by its essential elements: system, people, and the landscape itself. The nexus between these elements was philosophically developed in a recent discourse that challenges the separation between cultural and natural heritage. This "segregation" is based originally on the hegemony of western values, in which cultural heritage resides mainly in monuments and sites; meanwhile, natural heritage is formed by the scientific idea of nature and wilderness as something isolated from people.The landscape of Muara Muntai, a tiny settlement that has grown and developed on the riparian of Mahakam River, is characterized by the use of Ironwood or Eusideroxylon zwageri Teijsm (locally known as Kayu Ulin). This native plant of East Kalimantan is considered noteworthy, and in the perspective of ecology, is currently categorized as "threatened" due to deforestation in the last decades. For a couple of hundred years, locally-sourced Ironwood has been purposed and processed autonomously by the community as building and linkage-system material, creating a unique ambiance for Muara Muntai. The so-called modernization significantly changes the value of this native material: Ironwood building façades have been renovated into brick cement for the sake of practicality; Ironwood roads and bridges have been gradually paved with concrete to make way for motorized transportation.Noting that the spirit of the place resides as much in the meaning and symbolism of place as it does in the locus settings, it requires a holistic approach to understand the conflict between modernization and place identity. The case of Muara Muntai will showcase how values of cultural heritage and its attributes -also to what extent the integrity, i.e. wholeness and intactness-will be able to be read and interpreted to give an overall sense of continuity.

Abstract

called Kopi Buhun. Buhun Coffee is a type of Arabica coffee which is a single origin "special tea coffee". In developing Buhun coffee, land is needed that can be planted with coffee. This land is not only a coffee plantation but can become a tourist attraction that can educate, increase recreation and protect the environment besides that it can economically increase the income of residents around agrotourism. In general, the land of Lake Sunyayuri, Cimarias Village, Pamulihan District, Sumedang Regency is an area that has the potential to become a tourist spot with an artificial lake, and a panoramic view of the hills surrounding the lake with a beautiful and calming atmosphere. The productivity of Indonesian coffee is still low compared to the potential that can be increased. The need for plantation land, especially coffee, is still lacking. Utilization of abandoned forest areas in areas with coffee potential can still be carried out, including utilizing the Pamulihan Cekdam area. What is the form of the Sumedang Coffee Agrotourism design in utilizing the existing potential into plantation tourism that provides interesting tourist experiences, recreational facilities, and social interaction as well as coffee education for visitors and the community about how to cultivate coffee from nurseries to products that can be enjoyed and provide a source of income for local communities while preserving the environment?

Abstract

Landscape maintenance work is part of landscape work that focuses on daily activities to maintain the quality of beauty, environment, health, and plant growth in a landscape. Landscape maintenance at Trans Studio Mall Bandung is included in operational work that aims to increase the selling value of the mall landscape area, if the work is carried out in accordance with the capacity and work program that has been determined. Trans Studio Mall Bandung is an international standard shopping center that has green open space in its area. The green open space is managed by the Landscape Maintenance Unit (UPL) of Trans Studio Mall. To evaluate the landscape maintenance at Trans Studio Mall, a study will be conducted on the capacity of each type of maintenance work throughout the landscape area. The evaluation of maintenance work that will be discussed includes daily routine work carried out by the gardener. The studies start from preparation, data collection, analysis, and synthesis. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and literature studies, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results obtained show that the number of workers still does not meet the minimum capacity for landscape maintenance at Trans Studio Mall.

Abstract

Taman Santoso Kepahiang merupakan ruang publik dan ruang terbuka hijau yang berada pada tengah kota Kepahiang yang memiliki fungsi sebagai tempat menghabiskan waktu luang, berolahraga, bertamasya, dan seringkali menjadi tempat mengadakan acara musik ataupun pameran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh keberadaan Taman Santoso terhadap interaksi sosial masyarakat Kepahiang.

Abstract

Sampah organik yang berasal dari kegiatan rumah tangga di Kota Bandung dari tahun ke tahun semakin meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya jumlah penduduk dan konsumsi kebutuhan sehari-hari. Peningkatan volume sampah organik yang terpisahkan dari sampah anorganik memerlukan penanganan khusus yang efektif, efisien dan bermanfaat. Pada Bulan Oktober 2025, Pengabdian kepada Masyaarakat (PkM) bertujuan melakukan edukasi pemilahan dan penanganan sampah organik di Kelurahan Pamoyanan Kecamatan Cicendo Kota Bandung. Keterlibatan stakeholders (Pemerintah Kota Bandung, aparat kelurahan, masyarakat, dan mahasiswa) berperan penting dalam mewujudkan edukasi pemilahan dan penanganan sampah di Kelurahan Pamoyanan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah observasi lapangan kegiatan magotisasi untuk menguraikan sampah organik di Kelurahan Pamoyanan. Edukasi tersebut diharapkan dapat membantu pemerintah Kelurahan Pamoyanan dalam menanggulangi timbulan sampah organik di TPS, dan hasil magotisasi dapat dimanfaatkan kembali oleh masyarakat.
