Abstract

The increasing population of vehicles had a direct impact of more and more fuel consumptions. This resulted in the emerges of two serious threats which is firstly economic factor related to the supply of oil fuel that is decreasing and second threat is the environment factor which is pollution from oil fuel burning directly or indirectly in the form of dangerous gas such as CO2, NOx, dan UHC (UnburnHydro Carbon), and also indirect pollution in the form of global warming potential as the result of the explosion of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. In relation with that, it deemed important to conduct a research by adding a fan in the intake manifold. Fan is a device that can give an effect of turbulent flow in a cylinder hence it can perfect the fuel burning. By this the consumption will be less and less dangerous pollution. This is atrue experimental research. To get to know the fuel spesific consumption and exhausted gas emission (CO, O2, CO2) in the 4-stroke gasoline engine using mixer on the end of intake manifold. The objective of this researchis to know the influence of the mixer installment on the end of intake manifold on the fuel consumptions of 4-cylinder gasoline engine. The result of the research shows that with the installment of mixerin the intake manifold of 4-cylinder gasoline engine has caused the engine to consume less fuelbecause the fan had increased the fuel burning optimisation since the mixture of fuel-air was more homogenous.

Abstract

“No day without reading ". The sentence was clearly no stranger into a creed (beliefs, convictions) which thronged various enlightenment room in our country. Unfortunately, our nation does have a sense of ignorance that was so severe. Thousands of creed, slogans, mottos lined up, all just be on display. However, reading is a necessity. By reading one can obtain the information needed, stimulates creativity, encourages the emergence of a desire to be able to think critically and systematically, expand, and enrich the knowledge and form a winning personality and competitive. Insightful society is easy to be proactive to the times. Not only important, but also urgent due to read something is the key to build civilization. The behaviours of the students of Building Technical Education FKIP Universitas Palangka Raya in reading are different, there are as lectures took place, there were reading when at home, or anyone reading through the discussion, but this activity is rare to be done. Most of the students choose chatted with his/her friends while waiting Lecturer or to be elsewhere more than reading the books they brought. Therefore, the researchers intend to find out the influence of students' reading interest to their GPA for one encountered semester. Not many students brought relevant books to their class. Only a few students carry the book relevant to the subjects that followed, while others are usually only carry binders or writing books. The result of the research shows that there is a relationship (correlation) between the interest in reading and the students’ GPA.

Abstract

This research was carried out to uncover and analyze factors that affect student achievement index gains. The population of the research was the student education courses mechanical engineering University of Palangkaraya. Sampling is done in a manner stratified cluster random sampling with a sample research amounted to 45 students. The results showed that the index of Student Achievement (GPA) is influenced by multiple variables such as: interest, methods of studying, IQ, mood, divide the time, relationships with family, the explanation lecturer, the atmosphere of the place of residence, in addition to lectures, environmental adaptation, the radar of parents, parents ' attention, the Association, the ability of socialization, financial condition, mood learning campus and the ability of capturing material, after an analysis of the factors and process of reduction obtained 6 factors affecting students GPA and Study Old, the Sixth factor is the factor of interest, method of learning, motivation factors, Factors of the elderly, Financial and environmental factors. The results of this research is beneficial to students and lecturers especially decisive policies in the Education of mechanical engineering University of Palangkaraya, to develop and improve the factors that affect Long studies and student GPArelated policy in the campus in order to provide a positive contribution for obtaining student GPA.

Abstract

The university institution is also contributing in preparing learning participants to be able to adapt with their circumstances. A fluctuated-academic achievement possessed by students is actually determined due tothemselves. An academic guidance, self-learning and learning motivation becamethe substantial factor to obtain significant academic performance. This research applied the sample of student from Vocational Technology Education Department, University of Palangka Raya. Moreover, the variable components are consisting to academic guidance, self-learning and learning motivation interconnecting to learning achievement variable. Then, data collecting method is by using observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. To process those data, it will be conducted by editing, coding, scoring, and tabulating. The analysis tools in this research are validity test, reliability test, inferential test, F test and T test. After analysing to data, it will be recorded as a descriptive document and report form of final research result. The research result has shown that direct relation coefficient is 1,316 higher than direct relation coefficient of 1,225, thus direct relation coefficient is the recommended track. An academic guidance is mostly dominant factor influencing learning achievements of students

Abstract

This study aims to help students to more easily understand, analyze and work on the problems of each subject matter in Transportation Engineering courses and be active when learning activities in class so that it affects the learning outcomes of students. The approach and type of research used in this study is quantitative research, which is an analysis technique whose analysis is carried out using numbers and analysis using statistics. From the analysis of the data obtained the average pretest results in the experimental group amounted to 52.31 and the average value of the pretest control group obtained 53.50. While the average results of the post test in the experimental group that is equal to 83.125 and in the control class of 68. From these data it can be concluded the average value of student learning outcomes in the experimental group in which the learning process is applied to the Snowball Throwing cooperative learning model has a difference of 30.185 from the control group in the learning process carried out by the lecture method which only gained an increase of 14.5. The results of the research, analysis and discussion of research data, the following conclusions related to the research that there are differences in student learning outcomes using the Snowball Throwing cooperative learning model with the lecture method in Transportation Engineering Students of the Building Engineering Education Study Program FKIP University of Palangka Raya Academic Year 2017/2018. This difference can be seen from the learning outcomes in the experimental group that is based on the calculation results obtained an average value of 83.125. While learning outcomes in the control group by using the lecture method, which is based on the calculation results obtained an average value of 68.
