Abstract

A Cutter suction dredger is an important piece of mining equipment that is used by PT Timah, Tbk to conduct mining operations in the waters of the coast of Bangka Island. These operations involve complex offshore excavation activities, where materials containing tin ore are removed from below the shallow seafloor and then later transported to the stockpile with a floating pipe before processed at a washing plant. The process of moving these excavated materials into the washing plant presents a unique difficulty because of the long gap between a Cutter Suction Dredger and the stockpile – one that is solved with an attachment known as a dredge pump. The dredge pump plays a critical role as a variable in transporting the materials. This research was conducted to test the capability of the dredging pump’s hauling distance during the transporting process to match it with the target of rate soil displacement to the stockpile--that the mining operations would run as efficiently as possible. Also, this research used a quantitative approach method to calculate the performance of the dredging pump, which includes the rate of soil displacement in comparison to the distance between the cutter suction dredger and the stockpile. Based on the estimation of the distance during material transporting in order to attain the production target, the average result obtained for 10% solid concentration with the specificgravity between 2,68-7,0 is 8.256,85 m.

Abstract

Breakfast is often considered an important habit to support health and nutritional status in school children. This study aimed to determine whether there is a correlation between breakfast and the nutritional status of 5th grade at SD Tunas Bangsa Denpasar in 2024. The research used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 35 students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and anthropometric measurements (BMI-for-age). The analysis revealed that although most students who regularly had breakfast maintained good nutritional status, the Spearman test showed no significant relationship between breakfast habits and nutritional status (p-value > 0.05). This study concludes that breakfast does not have a direct relationship with nutritional status, although it remains important as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

Adolescent obesity is an increasingly global public health concern, including in Indonesia. Fast food consumption characterized by high calories, fat, sugar, and sodium with low essential nutrients has been identified as a major contributing factor. This study aimed to analyze the association between fast food consumption and obesity in adolescents and evaluate other influencing factors such as socioeconomic status, physical activity, and psychological aspects. This descriptive analytical literature review used secondary data sourced from journals, books, and research reports, obtained through PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect, with strict inclusion and exclusion criteria. Findings indicate a significant relationship between fast food consumption and increased obesity risk among adolescents. Socio-cultural influences, including advertising and accessibility, also shape dietary habits. Implications suggest the need for stricter fast food advertising regulations, improved nutrition education, and policies limiting fast food availability around adolescents. Routine fast food consumption has been proven to elevate obesity risk, underscoring the urgency of promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing fast food accessibility as preventive strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the educational level of tuberculosis (TB) patients and the incidence of Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) in Surakarta City. The study utilized an observational analytic design with a case-control approach, involving 304 subjects, consisting of 76 MDR-TB patients and 228 non-MDR TB patients. Data were collected through surveys, and the analysis was conducted using the chi-square test. The results showed that a low educational level was significantly associated with an increased risk of MDR-TB (OR=3.26; 95% CI=1.88-5.66; p<0.001). Patients with a lower educational level were 3.26 times more likely to develop MDR-TB compared to those with higher education. This study concludes that educational level plays a crucial role in the incidence of MDR-TB and emphasizes the need for improved health education programs to enhance treatment adherence and prevent drug resistance among TB patients.
