Abstract

Marnasibesan is one of kinship owned by simalungun tribe. Besan on the simalungun tribe is a call for wife-in-law. In the community life simalungun interceptor actors have limitations in communicating directly. In the tradition of indigenous tribes simalungun there is a term marmalang which means mutual or more reluctant to lead to avoidance or restrictions. This study describes how the meaning of the ban or the term Marsimalangan Tradition on interpersonal communication antarbesan on the simalungun tribe in Hutabayu Siolmut Kecamatan Raya Kahean Kabupaten Simalungun District and describe the shift of meaning that occurs in the ban or simalungun tradition at the present time. In obtaining the results of this study, the authors use qualitative methods or use interviewing techniques by interviewing to all informants considered important in providing information for the purposes of this study. The results of this study showed that interpersonal communication antarbesan in the simalungun tribe indeed has limitations in communicating. The limitations of communicating because of the existence of the Marsimalangan Tradition contains a prohibition that must be applied to every interpersonal perpetrator. The existing prohibition has a meaning that is as a mark of respect to nassibesan. But at the present time the prohibition that exists in the Marsimalangan Tradition is no longer carried out completely. The Simalungun community, especially inter-villagers in This Hutabayu is started to use and add the word Nai or Nassi in communicating with his besan. Simalungun people think using the word Nai or Nassi this process of communication antarbesan not as difficult as before, but in the interaction process respect to besan remain awake and try not to speak in vain.
