Abstract

The outbreak of the Pacific War between Japan and the Allied forces occur over Japan’s ambition to become one Superpower in Asia. Papua is located in the Pacific waters are also at infasi Japan to dominate Asia. Doom Island is located in the western part of New Guinea became one of the regions that have successfully mastered. method used was a descriptive survey method. The purpose of this paper to describe the various forms of Japanese defense building in Doom Island, as well as trying to be able to explain the role of the defense buildings during the fighting around the Island of Doom. Japanese troops on the island to build military facilities in the form of holes defense to attack alliedfleets in the waters of the Pacific.AbstrakPecahnya perang pasifik antara Jepang dengan pasukan Sekutu terjadi atas ambisi Jepang untuk menjadi salah satu Negara Adidaya di Asia. Tanah Papua yang terletak di perairan Pasifik pun tidak terlepas dari infasi Jepang untuk menguasai Asia. Pulau Doom yang terletak di bagian barat Pulau Papua menjadi salah satu daerah yang berhasil dikuasainya. metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei dan bersifat deskriptif. Tujuan tulisan ini untuk mendeskripsikan berbagai macam bentuk bangunan pertahanan Jepang di Pulau Doom, serta berusaha untuk dapat menjelaskan peranan bangunan-bangunan pertahanan tersebut selama terjadinya pertempuran di sekitar Pulau Doom. Di pulau ini pasukan Jepang membangun sarana militer berupa lubang pertahanan untuk menyerang armada laut sekutu di perairan pasifik.

Abstract

Kali Raja site has the potential to be developed as a tourist destination. Thus it is necessary to revitalize the cultural heritage sites in the Kali Raja. As for the goal of this research is the potential for archaeological sites in Kampung Wawiyai, District of South Waigeo like of them in the cliff wall paintings, and Telur Raja as part of the origin of Raja Ampat, which is located on the banks of Kali Raja. Research targets primarily spatial sites, cultural potential around the site, the potential of natural resources, public opinion and the role of government as policy makers. Kali Raja revitalization site is intended to regrow important values such as cultural sites. Kali Raja order site is also useful for the general public and in particular to the Raja Ampat current generation and the generations to come the following aspects have been identified, namely the aspect of value, ideological aspects, aspects of knowledge is science, socio-cultural, economic aspects, public participation aspects, and aspects of development.

Abstract

Doom Island administratively included in the Islands Sorong District, City of Sorong, West Papua Province. Island of Doom was formerly the seat of government Onderafdeling (subsections) Raja Ampat placed an HPB (Hoofd van Plaatselijk bestuur). Until the 1950’s Island of Doom a warehousing hub and trading port of Sorong. It is estimated there are many buildings of the colonial legacy infrastructure to support the purposes of Dutch life Doom Island.
