Abstract

ABSTRACTFeed is an element which requires largest cost in fish culture.  Inefficient in feeding can reduce profit.  In additon, intensive fish culture system requires efficiently the use of area.  Generally, not all space in fish cage filled by fish, because of the nature of fish that lives in some particular space on water such as the surface, middle space or bottom.  Cyprinus carpio andMacrones sp. was reared with gillnet inside gillnet (cage-cum-cage) and fed commercial diet in dose of 3%, 6%, 9% and 12%. Result show that feeding dose of 6% was an efficien mean by relative growth rate.  Growth rate of Cyprinus carpio was about 150.47% and Macrones was 208.87%.  Feed efficiency was about 81.89%. Survival rate of Cyprinus carpio was about 91.67% and Macrones was 86.67%.  Thus, feeding dose of 6% is recommended for Cyprinus carpio andMacrones in cage-cum-cage culture system.Keywords:  growth, Cyprinus carpio,Macrones sp., feeding dose, cage-cum-cage ABSTRAKPakan merupakan komponen yang membutuhkan biaya terbesar dalam usaha budidaya. Penggunaan pakan yang tidak efisiensi dapat mengurangi  keuntungan usaha. Selain itu budidaya yang intensif juga menuntut penggunaan ruang gerak ikan yang efisien. Umumnya tidak semua kolom air dalam karamba terisi dengan ikan yang dibudidayakan, karena sifat ikan mendiami bagian tertentu dalam air seperti di permukaan, di pertengahan atau di dasar perairan.  Ikan mas dan ikan baung dipelihara dengan jaring di dalam jaring (cage-cum-cage) dan diberi pakan dengan dosis  3%; 6%; 9% dan 12%. Hasil menunjukan bahwa dosis pakan 6% merupakan dosis yang efisien dalam penggunaan pakan dengan laju pertumbuhan relatif ikan mas 150,47 % dan ikan baung 208,87%, efisiensi pakan 81,89% dan kelangsungan hidup ikan mas 91,67% dan ikan baung 86,67%.  Dosis pakan 6% direkomendasikan sebagai dosis  yang sesuai untuk ikan mas dan ikan baung pada sistem cage-cum-cage.Kata kunci : pertumbuhan, ikan mas, ikan baung, Cyprinus carpio, Macrones, dosis pakan, cage-cum-cage.

Abstract

Vitamin C has a function for increasing normal growth, preventing bone annomaly for seed health or reducing stress, accelerating wound recovery and improving immune system against bacterial infection. Enhancement of immune response using immunostimulant had been proven in aquaculture.  One of the immunostimulant that had been examined in several fish species was vitamin C. However, the immunostimulatory effect of vitamin C on betok remains to be proven.  This study was performed to know the effect of feeding fish by diets containing vitamin C in form of ascorbic acid on growth and immune response of betok in term of stress adaptation. Concentrations of vitamin C tested were 0 (control), 125 mg, 250 mg and 375 mg/kg diet. The results show that supplementation of vitamin C in diet can increase daily growth rate and feed efficiency of betok.  Daily growth rate of treated fishes (1.37-1.49%) were higher than that of control (1.14%).  Feeding efficiency was also higher in treated fishes (39.73-48.07%) compared to that of control (33.73%). There was no significantly difference in survival rate of treated fish (93.33-96.67%) and control (93.33%).  Survival rate of fish reared at 15oC as a stress test was also examined.  Results showed that survival rate of fish increases by increasing the level of vitamin C in diet. Number of fish died in stress test was 10 in control, 7 fish in 125 mg/kg, 5 fish in 250 mg/kg and 3 fish in 375 mg/kg.  Thus, inclusion of vitamin C in diet improved ability of fish to adapt to an extreme environment condition. Keywords: Vitamin C, ascorbic acid, growth, immune response, Anabas testudineus   ABSTRAK Vitamin C berfungsi untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan normal, mencegah kelainan bentuk tulang untuk kesehatan benih atau mengurangi stress, mempercepat penyembuhan luka dan meningkatkan pertahanan atau kekebalan tubuh melawan infeksi bakteri. Peningkatan respon imun dengan  pemberian imunostimulan telah dibuktikan dalam akuakultur. Salah satu immunostimulan yang telah diuji pada beberapa spesies ikan adalah vitamin C. Namun demikian, pengaruh imunostimulatori vitamin C pada ikan betok belum diteliti.  Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efek pemberian pakan yang mengandung vitamin C dalam bentuk ascorbic acid terhadap pertumbuhan dan respons imun dalam arti daya tahan terhadap stres pada ikan betok. Dosis vitamin C adalah 0 (kontrol), 125 mg, 250 mg dan 375 mg/kg pakan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan vitamin C dalam pakan dapat meningkatkan laju pertumbuhan harian dan efisiensi pakan pada ikan betok.  Laju pertumbuhan harian pada ikan perlakuan (39.73-48.07%) lebih tinggi daripada ikan (33.73%). Kelangsungan hidup ikan tidak berbeda antara perlakuan (93.33-96.67%) dan kontrol (93.33%).  Kelangsungan hidup ikan yang dipelihara pada suhu 15oC sebagai uji stress as a stress juga diamati.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelangsungan hidup ikan meningkat dengan meningkatnya kadar C dalam pakan.  Jumlah ikan yang mati dalam uji stres adalah 10 pada kontrol, 7 pada perlakuan 125 mg/kg, 5 ekor pada perlakuan 250 mg/kg dan 3 ekor pada perlakuan 375 mg/kg.  Dengan demikian, penambahan vitamin C dalam pakan meningkatkan kemampuan ikan beradaptasi terhadap kondisi lingkungan esktrim. Abstract

Fish requires essential fatty acid for growth. Freshwater fish needs linoleat fatty acid (n-6) or combination of linoleat and a-linolenat acids (n-3).  Fish oil contains higher level of n-3, corn oil is rich of n-6, while coconut oil is rich of saturated fatty acids.  This study was conducted to determine the effect of fatty acid sources in diet on growth performance of botia Botia macracanthus. Sources of fatty acid examined were coconut oil (control), corn oil, fish oil, and corn oil + fish oil + coconut oil. Abstract

Semah fish (Tor douronensis) is a kind of freshwater fish pertained as a wild fish that almost extint and rare, therefore, it is necessary to preserve through the culture activity. Meanwhile, in fish culture effort, feed is considers as an important factor.  Thus, feed must meet a proper quality and quantity due to the fish maintenance, growth, and reproduction requirement. Test feed employed in this research was an artificial feed in form of pellet which was consists of 40% protein by dose tested of 3%, 6%, 9% and 12% of biomass weight. The result indicated that daily growth rate was ranged between 1.44-1.99% by highest growth achieved at feed dose 6% and from the quadratic regression analysis achieved optimal dose by 6.18%.  Daily feed comsumption rate of semah fish seed was ranged between 2.69-10.19% per day.  Feed efficiency was ranged between 13.85-54.09%, and survival rate was 100%. Keywords: dose, growth, feed comsumption, semah fish, Tor douronensis   ABSTRAK Ikan semah (Tor douronensis) adalah jenis ikan air tawar yang tergolong jenis ikan liar yang hampir punah dan sudah langka, karena itu perlu upaya pelestariannya dengan usaha pembudidayaan. Dalam usaha budidaya ikan, pakan merupakan salah satu faktor penting. Oleh sebab itu pakan harus berkualitas dengan kuantitas yang tepat sesuai dengan kebutuhan ikan untuk pertumbuhannya, pemeliharaan tubuh dan reproduksi. Pakan uji yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pakan buatan berupa pelet yang mengandung  protein 40% dengan dosis pakan yang diuji 3%, 6%, 9% dan 12% dari bobot biomassa. Hasil menunjukkan laju pertumbuhan harian berkisar antara 1,99-1,44% dengan pertumbuhan tertinggi dicapai pada dosis pakan 6% dan dari analisis regresi kwadratik diperoleh dosis optimum sebesar 6,18%. Laju konsumsi harian benih ikan semah selama penelitian ini berkisar antara 2,69-10,19 %/hari. Abstract

Recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) is one of aquaculture systems that aimed at providing good water quality as fish culture medium. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of water exchange rate in RAS on the growth and survival of Collosoma sp. Four different water exchange rates were tested, i.e. 0.003 ℓ/s, 0.005 ℓ/s, 0.008 ℓ/s, and 0.010 ℓ/s. Collosoma sp. larvae was stocked at a density of 50 fish/ℓ in plastic jar with a volume of 4ℓ. The observation showed that water exchange rate of 0.005 ℓ/s resulted in the best survival and growth. Key words: Circulating system, Collosoma larvae, water exchange rate, growth, survival ABSTRAK Akuakultur sistem sirkulasi merupakan salah satu sistem budidaya yang bertujuan untuk menyediakan kualitas air yang baik sebagai media pemeliharaan ikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh laju pergantian air terhadap kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan larva ikan bawal Collosoma sp. Perlakuan meliputi empat laju pergantian air yang berbeda yaitu, 0,003 ℓ/detik; 0,005 ℓ/detik; 0,008 ℓ/detik; and 0,010 ℓ/detik. Larva ikan bawal kemudian ditebar dalam stoples plastic dengan volume 4ℓ dengan kepadatan 50 ekor/ℓ. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju pergantian air sebanyak 0,005 ℓ/detik memberikan kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan ikan bawal terbaik.
