Abstract

ABSTRAKDaerah estuari Socah menjadi salah satu kawasan yang banyak dilalui oleh perahu- perahu nelayan dan menjadi jalur transportasi kapal, selain itu juga dekat dengan pemukiman penduduk dan buangan limbah lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui status mutu air di perairan estuari Socah Kabupaten Bangkalan serta efektivitas penggunaan metode STORET dan indeks pencemaran dalam penentuan status mutu air. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan Oktober-November 2020 setiap 2 minggu sekali dengan 3 kali pengulangan pada 2 stasiun lokasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perhitungan menggunakan metode STORET mendapatkan hasil pada stasiun 1 dan stasiun 2 di minggu ke-1 terindikasi tercemar sedang, minggu ke-2 dan ke-3 terindikasi tercemar berat. Perhitungan menggunakan metode indeks pencemaran pada stasiun 1 di minggu ke-1 dan ke-3 terindikasi tercemar ringan sedangkan di minggu ke-2 tercemar sedang, pada stasiun 2 di minggu ke-1 dan ke-2 terindikasi tercemar ringan dan di minggu ke-3 tercemar sedang. Metode STORET merupakan metode yang lebih logis dan efektif digunakan dalam penentuan status mutu air.Kata Kunci: Pencemaran, Metode STORET, Metode Indeks Pencemaran.ABSTRACTThe Socah estuary area is one of the areas that is often traversed by fishing boats and becomes a ship transportation route, besides that it is also close to residential areas and other waste disposal. This study aims to determine the status of water quality in the waters of the Socah estuary, Bangkalan Regency and the effectiveness of using the STORET method and the pollution index in determining the status of water quality. Sampling was carried out in October-November 2020 every 2 weeks with 3 repetitions at 2 research location stations. The results showed that calculations using the STORET method obtained results at station 1 and station 2 in the 1st week indicated moderately polluted, 2nd and 3rd weeks indicated heavily polluted. Calculations using the pollution index method at station 1 in the 1st and 3rd weeks indicated mild contamination while in the 2nd week moderately polluted, at station 2 in the 1st and 2nd weeks indicated lightly polluted and in the 3rd week moderately polluted. The STORET method is a more logical and effective method used in determining the status of water quality.Keywords: Pollution, STORET Method, Pollution Index Method.
