Abstrak - Pasal 14 Undang-Undang Nomor 12 Tahun 1995 tentang Pemasyarakatan mengatur bahwa narapidana berhak untuk mendapatkan pendidikan dan pengajaran termasuk narapidana anak.Namun meskipun sudah diatur masih ada anak belum terpenuhi untuk memperoleh hak pendidikan, di Cabang Rumah Tahanan Kelas IIB Bireuen terdapat narapidana anak yang sedang menjalani masa pidananya dari tahun 2017 hingga 2019 dengan total 13 orang narapidana anak belum mendapatkan pendidikan formal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Cabang Rumah Tahanan Kelas IIB Bireuen belum memberikan hak pendidikan formal bagi narapidana anak. Kendala yang dihadapi oleh pihak Cabang Rumah Tahanan dalam pemenuhan hak pendidikan bagi narapidana anak adalah kekurangan sarana prasarana. Upaya yang dilakukan oleh petugas rutan dalam mengatasi kendala terkait pemenuhan hak pendidikan formal bagi anak pidana di Cabang Rumah Tahanan Kelas IIB Bireuen yaitu bekerja sama dengan lembaga yang bergerak di bidang pendidikan baik formal atau non-formal, merencanakan sechara terinci kebutuhan sarana dan prasarana dalam pelaksanaan pembinaan narapidana anak.Kata Kunci : Narapidana Anak, Pendidikan. Abstract - The article 14 of the Law No. 12 of 1995 on the correctional service regulate that the inmates have the rights to obtain the education and teaching including the child inmates. Even though it has been regulated, there are still children whose rights to obtain education have not been fulfilled. In the Branch of Class IIB Detention Center of Bireuen, there are child inmates who are undergoing their imprisonment from 2017 to 2019 with a total of 13 child inmates have not obtained formal education. The result of this research shows that the Branch of Class IIB Detention Center of Bireuen has not provided the formal education rights for child inmates. The obstacle faced by the parties of Branch of Detention Center in the fulfillment of the right to education for child inmates is the lack of facilities and infrastructure. The efforts made by detention center officers in overcoming obstacle related to the fulfillment of formal education rights for criminal children in the Branch of Class IIB Detention Center of Bireuen are cooperating with institutions that is working in education both formal and non-formal, making detailed plans for the needs of facilities and infrastructure in the implementation of coaching for child inmates.
