Abstract

Background: Pregnant women are one of the population vulnerable to a disease. Therefore, pregnant women need to increase vigilance by limiting visits, namely by conducting online consultations or online media. Research Target: This study aims to determine the role of midwives in ANC services through online media on the compliance of pregnant women in K1-K4 during the Covid-19 pandemic. Method: The research design used was a quasi-experimental research design with Posttest only control group design. The sample in this study were all midwives who served in the work area of the Beru Health Center as many as 45 midwives. The sampling method used in this research is non-probability sampling, with the technique used is total sampling. Results of Research: The analysis used the chi square test of 2 samples (p = 0.002), meaning that there was a significant difference in the compliance of pregnant women between the group of midwives who used online media and those who did not use online media. Suggestion: This research is expected to help midwives to be more active in using online media to control the health of pregnant women, thereby reducing direct contact for longer and reducing the transmission of the covid-19 virus.

Abstract

Malnutrition  is experienced by children in Indonesia due to inadequate nutritional intake and the presence of infectious diseases and a combination of both. These problems affect the level of intelligence, increase in infectious diseases and morbidity and mortality. Malnutrition that occurs in Magepanda District is caused by socioeconomic disparities, geographic conditions, suboptimal feeding, food insecurity, maternal knowledge, parenting patterns, lack of cross-sectoral cooperation, maternal age and maternal education. Preliminary studies found that young mothers used to eat unhealthy snacks for their children and believed that poor nutrition was not harmful to their children's health. Regarding parenting, mothers prefer to leave their children to be cared for by their parents because they are busy working in the fields and some migrate to other areas, besides that, mother-in-law dominates in daily food arrangements. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of training on the use of local food using the PIS-PK method to improve the nutritional status of children under five. Methods: The research method used was pre-experimental with one group pretest and posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 1 group, namely the intervention group without the control group. The intervention group was given training using the PIS-PK approach. Assessment in the intervention group was carried out before and after training (pretest and posttest). The results of the study obtained a sig value of 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05, meaning that there is an influence between training on the use of local food and the PIS-PK method on improving the nutritional status of children under five. Conclusion: that training on the use of local food using the PIS-PK method has a positive impact because it can increase body weight and nutritional status of toddlers. Abstract

Nutritional problems in toddlers remain a major challenge in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas such as Paga Village, Sikka Regency. Nutritional problems are not only caused by a lack of nutritious food intake but are also exacerbated by the high incidence of infectious diseases, inadequate parenting, low public nutrition knowledge, limited access to health services, and low socioeconomic conditions. These factors directly and indirectly impact children's nutritional status. One intervention effort that can be implemented to address this problem is through the provision of locally-based food supplements (PMT), which aims to improve children's nutritional intake and encourage food independence and sustainable family nutritional security. This study aims to determine the effect of providing locally-based food supplements as a nutritional intervention on improving the nutritional status of toddlers experiencing malnutrition. The research method used was an observational analytic approach with a cross-sectional design approach. The sample in this study were toddlers with malnutrition status who received an intervention in the form of local food-based PMT. The results showed an improvement in nutritional status in toddlers after receiving PMT. A total of 46 toddlers who were initially malnourished experienced an improvement to normal nutritional status after the intervention. These results indicate that providing locally-based food supplements has a positive effect on the nutritional status of toddlers. In conclusion, local food-based PMT has proven effective as a nutritional intervention in improving the nutritional status of toddlers in Paga Village. Such programs need to be further developed and supported by various parties to reduce the prevalence of malnutrition in the community and strengthen local food self-sufficiency.
