Abstract

This study aims to discuss the philosophical relation of the persecution and developing traditions in Islam Nusantara and Hindu Nusantara. This departs from the thesis that religious humans can not be separated from the tradition that encloses, even though the tradition does not make him satisfied in religion. This research is a field study, which describes as well as analyzing sources obtained from the results of interviews, observation, and documentation of the Hindu Tolotang group in Kelurahan Amparita Sidrap Regency, South Sulawesi. The results of this study say that Hindu Nusantara and Islam Nusantara are both able to finalize his teachings with the context of human life he encountered. The results of religious dialogue and contexts read in this study include tradition in the form of worship and social, visit the cemetery, marriage, pay promises or nazar, and respect for the leader or kiai. These four traditions show philosophical relation with each in its context. This shows that many traditions of marketing awakening in Islam and Hindu are maintained through Islam Nusantara initiated by the Nahdlatul Ulama and Hindu Nusantara initiated Hindu Tolotang. This article also shows that there is an understanding of Islam Nusantara and Hindu Nusantara which assesses the fact that Indonesia is a multicultural, pluralistic country that brings together religion and local culture.

Abstract

The emerging phenomenon of religiosity force us to make a reevaluation without neglecting our keen analysis. Recent religious discourse tends more on the repetition of some old discourses using “new Clothes” and gives only little constructive-subtantive information. It is understandable, therefore, that the jargons of “majority-minority” “minna-minhum”, “you-we” “right-wrong”, are still widely believed as the manifestation of the level of someone’s adherence to their religions. This condition seems to be valid for all religions, including Islam. In Islam, kalam and philosophy are the two important sources which have great access especially in constructing the mode of thought embodied in the daily activities of the ummah. The emergence of some sects in Islam including shī’ah, Mu’tazilah, Jabariah and Sunni as well as the easy judgment given each other by, and for, the philosopher and the ologians as the unbelives clearly show how was the political conflict of that time. This interest was then neatly covered by the “religious robe” which, in trun, leaved an unpleasant attitude for the next generations. Thus, the research on Islamic becomes closed and is no longer opened. It would be more ironic when one realizes that historical interpretations of the Qur’an and the Hadith are believed as the facts themselves which are free from mistakes. In responds to this phenomenon, there emerges a new critical thought which tries to be neutral in understanding some aspects of these products of thought. The type of the relationship between the doctrinal, theological, historical-empirical and critical -philosophical. This alternative is, so far, considered as the most appropriate one although it does not escape some problems. To mention but few are the apriori attitude and the intellectual arrogance which might blur the problems. This article is aimed as another alternative to deal with the Problems.

Abstract

Dalam sejarah manusia, sejak pertama pemikiran, sudah mengetahui adanya kekuatan-kekuatan yang mengatasi manusia, suatu yang dianggap Maha Kuasa, dan mendatangkan kebaikan maupun keburukan serta dapat mengabulkan doa dan ke inginan manusia. Dari pemikiran tersebut kemudian muncul konsep-konsep tentang Tuhan. Tuhan merupakan sentral sekaligus inti dari semua yang ada. Dalam tradisi keagamaan monoteis Persoalan ke-Tuhan-an selalu mendapat perhatian utama dan menempati posisi teratas dari berbagai persoalan keagamaan lainnya. Tulisan ini bertujuan menelisik aspek-aspek pandangan para filsuf Islam tentang konsep ketuhanan, manusia dan akal. Juga sekaligus merangkum berbagai interpretasi mereka mengenai konsep metafisik dari sudut pandang filsafat yang merupakan harmonisasi tradisi keilmuan. Konsep ketuhanan di atas telah memberikan sumbangan pemikiran yang konstruktif terhadap pemikiran keagamaan. Akan tetapi hal tersebut tidak lepas dari kelemahan dan kritik.
