Abstract

Shipbuilding nearly 2/3 of the work is welding work. There are several variations of the weld joint as an option based on the thickness and quality of the material, the method of welding. Welding results generally depend heavily on the skill of the welder. Weld damage both on the surface and on the inside is difficult to detect with a simple test method. In addition, because the structure being welded is an integral part of the entire body of the weld material, the cracks that arise will spread quickly and may even cause serious accidents. In general, welding on ships has requirements from the Classification Agency which supervises and provides the feasibility of the ship's construction strength. To meet these requirements, the role of the welder and technique is very large, so that the ship gets good welding quality and can be accepted by the shipowner and the classification agency.

Abstract

The need for electrical power is between the initial design of the ship and the conditions in the field. In the end, it can be proven theoretically that the planning of the electrical system on the ship can be implemented in real terms and in accordance with the applicable regulations so that during the installation of electrical installations on the ship and for future purposes it can be relied on and satisfied for the shipowner. is to analyze and process data, it will get an analysis of the power requirements of the cargo ship pump. From the results of the calculation of the pump power used, it can be seen that the largest pump power needed when the ship is in an emergency at night is 46.76 Kw, then this amount of power becomes the standard in the selection of auxiliary engines so that the power requirements in these conditions can be met.

Abstract

The main propulsion engine (MPU), or the main motor on board, is a machine that functions to move the ship forward and backwards. The MPU has two combustion air intake systems in the cylinders, namely a suction intake system that relies on the vacuum of the combustion chamber due to piston movement or a press intake system, namely by equipping the engine with a Turbocharger. The primary purpose of a turbocharger is to increase the combustion air pressure by compressing the air so that the mass of air entering the combustion chamber becomes higher than atmospheric air. If the mass of the combustion air flow decreases due to various conditions, it will affect the incomplete combustion process, which can be visually indicated by darker smoke. Incomplete combustion will affect the power and performance of the diesel engine.

Abstract

Bahan bakar HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) dari hasil pengolahan minyak bumi, terdapat kandungan material yang tidak dibutuhkan dalam proses pembakaran untuk mesin diesel, biasanya di dalam HFO banyak terdapat kandungan air, pasir, dan lumpur. Jika kondisi ini tidak ditangani akan dapat mengakibatkan turunnya kualitas bahan bakar dan diiringi dengan ketidak sempurnaan pembakaran di dalam ruang bakar. Efek dari pembakaran yang tidak sempurna dapat mengakibatkan kerusakan-kerusakan fatal terhadap mesin induk. Kondisi seperti ini dapat membahayakan keselamatan kapal. Disamping itu perusahaan juga akan mengalami kerugian akibat terjadinya kerusakan pada mesin induk yang di akibatkan oleh rendahnya kualitas bahan bakar. Untuk menghindari hal tersebut dan untuk menjamin proses penanganan bahan bakar yang lancar, maka diperlukan sistem perawatan yang terencana dan bekerja secara efektif dan efisien. Masalah yang sering terdapat diseputar perawatan sistem bahan bakar di atas kapal adalah sering didapati Alarm Failure Purification ketika Purifier sedang beroperasi untuk memurnikan bahan bakar, dan juga sering ditemukannya banyak endapan lumpur dan air pada dasar tangki penyimpanan bahan bakar. HFO ( Heavy Fuel Oil ) yang merupakan minyak residu dari hasil pengolahan minyak bumi, bahan bakar ini memiliki viskositas yang tinggi dibandingkan bahan bakar yang lainnya sehingga pengolahannya harus benar-benar diperhatikan.
