This paper aims to give a preliminary draft to formulate an innovative concept in the Qur?anic studies world in the age of post-consumerism Muslim. Recent studies on tug of war between globalization and religion have been identifying salient social transformation in some parts of Muslim world, such as the rise of new (media) religious authority, religious commodification trends, varieties of Islamic consumption, the emergence of public Islam and so forth. Apart from these recent scholarships, which successfully grasp the globalization?s influence toward religion (Islam), this paper offers the concept of everyday Qur?an as an alternative basic approach of understanding the cultures of Qur?an in this changing (Muslim) world and at the same time, seeking to briefly explain its emerging issues. Some exemplary issues then have analytically discussed to reflect how the proposed theory applied. Thus, everyday Qur?an can contribute the discourse of cultures based technology in the context of Qur?anic Studies.

The openness of a religion towards new insights leads tochanges of symbolic order as well as the characteristics and performanceof the religion. Nowadays, many people assume that spirituality can beachieved in the mass consumption for symbols, icons and cult objectsso that a consumer culture makes up the opportunity to meet the desireand evoke the human subconscious. One of the cultures is the changesof Muslims fashion in Indonesia. Some artists start to wear jilbab and itbecomes a trend among ordinary people. As we know, jilbab is obligatoryto some female Muslims, but nowadays it is likely a kind of trend in fashion. In fact, jilbab itself shows the identity of female Muslims. When a femaleMuslim has decided to wear jilbab, it is sure that she has got the hidayah(inspiration) to make herself closer to God. Among the motivations of artiststo wear jilbab is the fulfillment of their spiritual need and other factors arealso possible.

Soeara Moehammadijah, (later: Suara Muhammadiyah), has continuously become one of the longest living magazines in Indonesia. To date, the beginning of publication of Soeara Moehammadijah was published on 1915 and has progressively scattered information to the present day. Several dissertations have used this magazine for one of its main references. Several books have also examined how Muhammadiyah developed, either from education or da'wah, from this source. However, what is the actual content of this magazine, not many have studied it. This series presents the contents of the Soeara Moehammadijah column 1915 - 1940. This section presents the continuous sections of the rubric 1939 – 1942

Continuing the previous edition, this bibliography presents dissertations titles produced mainly from universities in Australia, America, and Canada. Not only dissertations ones, some important theses are also displayed in this bibliography. The period 1980-1999 is a salient period in the process of Indonesian Islamic studies development. Since 1990 Minister of Religious Affairs has selectively sent Indonesian scholars finishing their master degree to McGill University. For the result, they produced theses master on Indonesian Islam. On the one hand, this theses can be used as an evidence that Indonesian scholars were able to introduce Indonesian Islam abroad; on the other hand, this introduction focuses on leaders thoughtwhich is then dominated the pattern of Islamic studies in Indonesian Islamic higher education institutions. In comparison, dissertation/thesis from the universities in the United States and Australia shows notable interesting assumption that during that period the scholars whose background are Islamic studies tend to produce theological-doctrinal dissertation/thesis as well as that of leaders-thought; while scholars with social and cultural background tend to review Islam from the attending problems in society. Keywords: Islamic Studies, McGill University, Bibliography, Dissertation, Indonesia

The shifting of religious authority has been a primary issue of (un)published dissertations on Indonesian Islam. The collapse of Soeharto regime, more or less, takes salient effect on the rise of new religious authorities; while on the same time it provokes social change in the society. New religious mass organizations, such as Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia, Front Pembela Islam and Front Umat Islam, seem to be main critical discussion in certain dissertation in line with some topics which problematizes prominent Islamic organizations, Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama, under new framework of analysis. New media and Islamic banking have to be other domain authorities that carefully discussed in some dissertation. Put it in another topics, gender issue take a untrivial position. In short, these dissertations topics tend to discuss more on Islam in popular authorities. Keywords:Islamic Studies, Bibliography, Dissertation, Indonesia
