Abstract

This research is motivated by the depletion of fuel oil supplies in Indonesia, while the needs of the public are increasingly reminded. This energy also cannot be updated. It takes thousands or even millions of years of the time needed by nature to form the fuel oil. One of its efforts is to reduce fuel consumption. The compiler effort in supporting the savings program is to modify the vehicle. The research objective of this is to find out how to modify the engine to be more fuel efficient and know how to make noise levels not more than 90 dB. This study uses the method of stroke up, bore up and low profile camshaft, so the engine character becomes overstroke. Overstroke means the stroke distance is longer than the bore. This vehicle will produce the advantages of fast starting and large and strong torsion and the use of fuel can be minimized. This research is expected to be able to optimize combustion in the combustion chamber so as to reduce fuel consumption and noise.

Abstract

Komposit adalah material yang terdiri dari dua atau lebih komponen dengan sifat mekanik berbeda, yaitu resin sebagai matriks dan serat sebagai penguat. Penelitian ini menggunakan serat alam dari ampas tebu (bagasse sugarcane) yang biodegradableKomposit dibuat dengan metode Hand Lay Up menggunakan resin epoxy dan polyester dengan perbandingan serat-resin 25:75, dan serat direndam larutan NaOH 5% selama 60 menit. Pengujian dilakukan melalui simulasi Compression Testing sesuai standar ASTM D695-96  menggunakan Universal Testing Machine (UTM). Hasil uji specimen Compression Testing menunjukkan bahwa komposit dengan resin epoxy memiliki kekuatan tertinggi dengan nilai Maximum Compressive Load 10.673,486 N dan Compressive Stress 66,176 MPa.

Abstract

Motorcycles with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) technology require special maintenance including maintenance of the electronic control unit (ECU), sensors, actuators (injector and ignition coil), and fuel pump. Therefore, workshops that are engaged in motorcycle maintenance services, such as sabar garage, must continue to upgrade their skills to meet market needs. Based on the analysis of the situation and technical problems at the sabar garage workshop, it was concluded that the mechanics had difficulty measuring the compression ratio and fuel pump pressure. The results of the analysis were then discussed and activities were determined, namely a training program in the form of measuring the compression ratio and fuel pump pressure on motorcycles with EFI technology. This is intended so that sabar garage mechanics are able to operate compression gauges and fuel testers. The training was carried out for 1 day with a practical theoretical method. Partner contributions include providing practical objects, namely motorcycles with EFI technology and tool boxes. The results show that mechanics are able to measure the compression ratio and fuel pump pressure on motorcycles with EFI technology. The expected impact is an increase in service and productivity of the workshop so that it correlates with an increase in the income of the workshop.
