Abstract

Sagoo is a kind of staple food for people in eastern Indonesia. This short writing makes an effort to study any various semantical lexeme of sagoo processing tools in Sentani language, Papua. The stage of this research consist of collecting data, analyzing data and presenting data analysis. Then, she got oral and written data for this research. Those data, then, has been analyzed using analysis of lexical components method by several phase. First, selecting data to determine any meaning class which is mutually collocated and presumed to form a specific domain.  Second, determine contiguity relationship intersense in several lexemes.  Analysis result shows that various semantical lexeme in Sentani language for these tools are eleven lexemes. Those are classified into three groups. They are (1) tools or equipment for cutting sago tree, (2) tools for pounding, and (3) tools for squeezing sagoo. Subdomain meaning of ‘tools for cutting sagoo tree’ lexemes are devided into three, namely, ramayali ‘machete’, ramekahu ‘axe’, and onggi ‘crowbar’.  AbstrakSagu bagi orang Indonesia Timur merupakan salah satu makanan pokok. Tulisan ringkas ini berupaya mengkaji varian semantik leksem alat-alat pengolah sagu dalam bahasa Sentani, Kabupaten Jayapura, Papua. Langkah kerja penelitian ini, meliputi pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, dan pemaparan hasil pengolahan data. Data diperoleh dari data lisan dan data tertulis. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian dianalisis dengan menerapkan metode analisis komponen leksikal dengan langkah-langkah berikut. Pertama, menyeleksi data untuk menentukan kelompok makna saling berkolokasi yang diperkirakan membentuk satu medan makna tertentu. Kedua, menentukan hubungan kontinguitas antarmakna yang terdapat dalam sejumlah leksem.  Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa varian semantik leksem alat-alat pengolah sagu dalam bahasa Sentani berjumlah sebelas leksem. Leksem-leksem tersebut diklasifikasikan ke dalam tiga kelompok, yaitu (1) peralatan dalam menebang sagu, (2) peralatan dalam proses menokok sagu, dan (3) peralatan dalam proses meramas sagu.

Abstract

Since Law Number 14 2005 on Teacher and Lecturer was effective, teacher was pushed to improve their academic effort. One of this effort is writing a scientific paper of class action research (PTK). This study aims to (1) measure teachers’ ability in writing paper of class action research (2) analyze teacher’s error in writing scientific paper. There are 33 Primary School Teachers in Keerom Regency who propose their promotion in 2016 as the subject of this study. This study using qualitative dascriptive method based on quantitative data. The analysis result shows that on the whole mean score of teachers’ writing is 74.75 of 100. Then, all the writing acquire predicate as fair enough.

Abstract

One of the skills to be mastered well by teachers to show their professional identity as an academic community is writing skills. This research aims at describing effective sentences and ineffective sentences produced by junior high school teachers in Mimika Regency, Papua Province and describe the causes of ineffectiveness based on theoretical framework. The results of this study are expected to be useful to develop the ability of teachers to deal with problems in classroom learning, especially problems relating to writing sentences in scientific work. In addition, this study serves as a material consideration in an effort to improve the quality of teachers and schools so as to improve the quality and achievements of graduates. This study uses a descriptive method to describe the latest conditions related to the ability of non-language teachers in junior high schools to write scientific papers in the form of writing class action research reports. Exposure is focused on the ability, language knowledge, and experience of writing non-language teachers in developing the ability to write classroom action research. Based on an analysis of eleven manuscripts, the number of effective sentences is less than the ineffective sentences. This shows that generally writers have not been able to make good texts. The main cause of the ineffectiveness of the sentences produced by the teacher is due to the influence of spoken language.
