Abstract

The application of item response theory in constructing Arabic Language test equipment took place at the Arabic Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Language Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This theory will be applied in the selection of final exam questions for PBA students taking Al-Qawaid An-Nahwiyyah courses. The items used in this test were dichotomous, with 250 items, then filtered and only a few questions, looking at the level of ability of the students in the specified class. IRT was to define the nature or ability of the underlying scale in which growth would be measured. The item model used in this study was the dichotomous item model. The results of the simulation of the item response theory in the constructing Arabic Language test equipment from the question bank provided with 250 items, obtained four items that were following the expected target.

Abstract

Penerapan teori respon butir dalam perakitan perangkat tes bahasa Arab yang dilakukan di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab, Fakultas Pendidikan Bahasa, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Teori ini akan diterapkan dalam pemilihan soal ujian akhir bagi mahasiswa PBA pengambil mata kuliah Al-Qawaid An-Nahwiyyah. Item soal yang digunakan dalam ujian ini bersifat dikotomus, dengan banyak soal 250 butir, untuk kemudian disaring dan hanya diambil beberapa soal saja, melihat pada tingkat kemampuan mahasiswa pada angkatan yang ditentukan. IRT digunakan untuk mendefinisikan sifat atau kemampuan skala yang mendasari di mana pertumbuhan akan diukur. Model item yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model item dikotomus. Hasil dari simulasi penerapan teori respon butir dalam perakitan perangkat tes bahasa Arab di prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab Fakultas Pendidikan Bahasa Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta dari bank soal yang disediakan dengan jumlah butir soal 250, diperoleh 4 butir soal yang sesuai dengan target yang diharapkan.

Abstract

This study produces the results of the analysis of Arabic Language Midterm Exam items at SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta stating that the report data obtained from the results of mathematics tests with 25 items and 88 participants as shown in the appendix. From the calculation of the difficulty level parameters in the RStudio software, good results are obtained as in table 13. Of the 25 items of the Arabic Language Midterm Exam or instruments that have been analyzed using RStudio software, it is found that the parameter value at the difficulty level for each item. Based on the table for each item, 5 items are classified as "difficult", 11 items are classified as "medium", and the remaining 9 items are categorized as "low or easy" difficulty. This study also uses a type of quantitative research. And to investigate the items tested to 10th grade students of Muhammadiyah Vocational High School (SMK) using a quantitative type of data grouping by analyzing the items of the Even Mid-Semester Exam, to determine the quality of the product used, a range of quantitative data is needed in the form of raw data and response values from multiple choice questions to be studied .

Abstract

This study utilizes the cooperative learning strategy known as Teams Games Tournament (TGT) along with crossword puzzle games to enhance Arabic language acquisition at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kalasan. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of implementing the cooperative teams games tournament approach in enhancing students' academic performance. The research methodology employed is quantitative with a nonequivalent control group design. The study sampled two classes: experimental class 8e and control class 8d. The study employed a census sample, encompassing all pupils in each class, totaling 35 students. Data were gathered using observation techniques, interviews, and Pre Post Test assessments. The data collected using SPSS version 25 indicates that the independent sample t-test yielded a two-tailed significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. There is a considerable difference in average student learning achievement between using Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning and not using it. This method of learning facilitates quicker comprehension for pupils by engaging them in educational games relevant to the study topic.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools apply different learning systems in teaching Nahwu, namely the Regular Program (six years) with a distributed learning pattern and the Intensive Program (four years) with a massed or condensed learning pattern. This difference in instructional design raises an important question: which program produces better academic achievement in Nahwu? This research aims to determine whether there are differences in academic achievement in Nahwu between students in the Regular Program (six years) and the Intensive Program (four years) at the Ar-Ridho Sentul Modern Islamic Boarding School. This study uses a comparative quantitative approach with a sample of 356 students. Data were obtained from official grade documentation and analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U nonparametric test because the data distribution was not normal. The results of the analysis showed a statistically significant difference (p = 0.001 < 0.05) between the two groups. The Regular group had a Mean Rank of 183.64, while the Intensive group had only 120.55. These findings indicate that distributed practice in the Regular Program is more effective in strengthening long-term memory retention than the intensive learning pattern in the Intensive Program, which can increase cognitive load. The research recommends evaluating and adjusting learning strategies so that Islamic boarding school administrators can optimize student academic achievement.

Abstract

Arabic occupies a central position in Islamic education and religious practice; however, its contribution to Muslim religious value identity in minority contexts facing rapid digital transformation remains underexplored. This study investigates the role of Arabic in shaping Muslim religious value identity in Mindanao, Philippines, while examining the challenges and opportunities arising from technological change. A qualitative case study design was employed using purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis involving Arabic language teachers, religious leaders, and Muslim youth. The data were analyzed thematically with source triangulation and member checking to enhance trustworthiness. The findings reveal that Arabic functions not only as a medium for accessing Islamic texts but also as a mechanism for internalizing religious values, strengthening communal belonging, and reinforcing Muslim identity. Although digitalization and multilingual environments have reduced reliance on Arabic in everyday religious learning, technology simultaneously provides new opportunities for expanding Arabic education through digital platforms and interactive learning resources. The study demonstrates that sustaining Muslim religious identity requires integrating Arabic language instruction with value-oriented pedagogy and technology-enhanced learning. It contributes a holistic perspective linking language, religion, and digital transformation within a Muslim minority context.
