Abstract

AbstrakLiterasi media yang efektif akan berimplikasi kepada kualitas dan kinerjamahasiswa. Pada aspek lain efektivitas literasi media mahasiswa dapat dilihat daridisparitas gender. Disparitas ini dapat dilihat pada data sebagai berikut: pertamapersentase penduduk laki-laki usia 15 tahun ke atas yang bisa membaca danmenulis dari data tahun 2007 sampai dengan tahun 2011 masih berkisar di angka95 persen. Sementara itu, persentase penduduk perempuan yang melek hurufmengalami peningkatan dari tahun 2007 sampai 2010 sebelum akhirnyamengalami sedikit penurunan pada tahun 2011. AMH perempuan tahun 2007adalah 88,62 persen meningkat menjadi 90,52 persen tahun 2010 dan kemudianmenurun menjadi 90,07 persen pada tahun 2011. Penelitian ini melihat bagaimanaefektivitas literasi media pada mahasiswa universitas di Kabupaten dan KotaCirebon dari perspektif gender. Demikian sehingga diketahui bahwa sarana danprasarana perpustakaan dan teknologi informasi komunikasi yang ada padauniversitas-universitas yang ada di Kabupaten dan Kota Cirebon belum cukupmemadai untuk meningkatkan efektivitas literasi media para mahasiswanya.Peminatan mahasiswa untuk mengunjungi perpustakaan dan mengakses sumbersumberliteratur pendukung perkuliahannya secara terkait didukung oleh saranadan prasarana yang ada. Hal ini tentu saja berbanding lurus dengan frekuensikunjungan mereka ke perpustakaan di kampusnya masing-masing. Padagilirannya terlihat bahwa mahasiswa yang mengakses perpustakaan dan pirantiteknologi informasi komunikasi yang menyertainya secara keseluruhan lebihefektif didominasi oleh kaum perempuan.Kata kunci: sarana prasarana, perpustakaan, teknologi informasi komunikasi,literasi media, gender.AbstractEffective media literacy will have implications on the quality and performance ofstudents. In another aspect the effectiveness of student media literacy can be seenfrom gender disparity. So it is known that thefacilities and infrastructure of library and information communication technologythat exist in the universities in the District and City of Cirebon not enough toimprove the effectiveness of media literacy of its students. The interest of studentsto visit the library and access the literature sources supporting the lectures aresupported by the existing facilities and infrastructures. This is of course directlyproportional to the frequency of their visits to libraries on their respectivecampuses. In turn, it appears that students accessing the library and theinformation communications technology tools that accompany it as a whole aremore effectively dominated by women.Keywords : infrastructure, library, communication information technology,media literacy, gender.

Abstract

The importance of an education is to increase the nation's competitiveness which aims to create social justice. Shows that Indonesia must continue to spur investment in human resources. On this it can be said that education has relevanto investment in human resources. The priority scale in our current education is vocational education. Both the upper secondary level (SMK) and tertiary education such as poly,technics, D3 and D4 Communication in the field of education is a very important element and has a very large role in determining the success of education. The teaching and learning process carried out in the classroom mostly occurs due to communication in the field of education. Thus it can be stated that educational communication can be interpreted as instructional communication. In this study, the population was the students of the Manbaul Ulum Dukuntang Vocational High School, the competence of Visual Communication Design skills. While the sample is DKV Class XI and XII students at the Mamba'ul Ulum Islamic Boarding School. Testing techniques using validity test, reliability test and regression test. Based on statistical tests that measure the effect of the quality of learning media on learning interest, the results show that all of them meet the requirements for carrying out the regression test. The results obtained on the quality of learning communication media in productive lessons in the field of Visual Communication Design expertise which consists of four dimensions, including Material, Presentation Order, Language and Attraction get a value of 4.09 on a scale of 1-5 which means good. The learning interest of students who take part in learning productive subjects by using learning communication media which consists of four dimensions, including Likes, Interest, Attention and Involvement get a score of 3.89 on a scale of 1-5 which means good, the regression test is 0.398 which indicates that the quality learning communication media has an effect of 39.8% on student learning interest.
