Abstract

Student learning outcomes is still less than optimal or unsatisfactory, it can be known through the data replication midterm class XI IPA at SMAN 9 Banjarmasin. This happens because the learning methods and models used by teachers based on observations during the learning tend to be monotonous and less engaging students, so that students are less enthusiastic and less active in the following study. This study aims to determine whether there are differences in learning outcomes of students using cooperative learning model Pair Check with the type of Think Pair Square in class XI SMA Negeri 9 Banjarmasin. This type of research used in this research is quantitative quasi-experimental research design. This study population is all students in grade XI IPA at SMAN 9 Banjarmasin. Samples were taken using cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques are techniques achievement test and documentation. The results showed that there are differences in learning outcomes of students using cooperative learning model Pair Check with the type of Think Pair Square in class XI SMA Negeri 9 Banjarmasin.

Abstract

This research is a development research that aims to obtain a student worksheets and teaching materials Kinetic Theory of Gases topics that can train proportional reasoning. The research was conducted in five stages through Wademan and McKenney research model with research subjects are student worksheets and teaching materials, while the object of research is the validity, practicality and effectiveness of teaching materials developed. The validation results obtained from two experts found that the student worksheets and teaching materials have a valid category. The results of tests on 20 students showed that the resulting product has been fulfilled the criteria of practical and effective. It can be concluded that the student worksheets and teaching materials developed for training proportional reasoning student using direct instruction model on the kinetic theory of gases have valid, practical and effective criteria. Keywords: direct instruction, proportional reasoning, student worksheet, thermodynamics Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh LKM dan Materi Ajar topik Teori Kinetik Gas yang dapat melatihkan penalaran proporsional mahasiswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam lima tahap melalui model penelitian Wademan dan McKenney dengan subjek penelitian adalah bahan ajar yang meliputi LKM dan Materi Ajar sedangkan objek penelitian adalah validitas, kepraktisan dan keefektifan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan. Hasil validasi yang diperoleh dari dua orang ahli diperoleh bahwa LKM dan Materi Ajar yang dikembangan telah berkategori valid. Hasil uji coba pada 20 orang mahasiswa menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dihasilkan telah memenuhi kriteria praktis dan efektif. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKM dan Materi Ajar yang dikembangkan untuk melatihkan penalaran proporsional dengan menggunakan model pengajaran langsung pada teori kinetik gas telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif.
