Abstract

This research analyzed Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) in improving the reading comprehension ability of the 2nd semester Publishing students at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif and the difficulties found in applying the CSR technique in improving reading comprehension ability. The aims of this research were to find out if CSR strategy improved the student's reading comprehension ability and to find out the difficulties found in applying CSR strategy in improving the reading comprehension ability. The methodology used in this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data of this research were the result of reading tests. The subjects of the research were forty-four students of the second semester of Publishing study program at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif. The findings of the research showed that the mean of pre-test was 54,3 and the mean of post-test was 70,2. Based on the findings and the analysis of the data above, it was concluded that using CSR improved the students reading comprehension.

Abstract

P4MP plays a role in assisting the Director in ensuring the quality of education at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif. In carrying out this role, P4MP conducted an understanding survey of the academic community and stakeholders towards Polimedia's Vision, Mission, Objectives and Strategy (VMTS). This survey aimed to measure the level of knowledge and understanding of lecturers, staffs, students, functional and structural officials of VMTS Polimedia. Researchers used a quantitative method with purposive random sampling. Based on the data, it is known that 96.9% of lecturers knew and 87.8% of lecturers understood VMTS Polimedia. Furthermore, 96.1% of the respondents knew and 84.3% of the respondents understood the Polimedia VMTS. For college-students, as many as 73.86% of students knew and 62.2% of students understood the meaning of VMTS Polimedia. Respondents know VMTS Polimedia from 45.6% Polimedia website, 25.3% Polimedia social media, 17% bulletin boards on campus, 7.4% academic rule books, and 4.7% from other media.

Abstract

This research departs from the lack of development in the work of the Final Project students of the Publishing Study Program, especially in books with the fiction genre. This limitation causes the work produced in terms of content and medium is still monotonous and has not developed in the desired direction. This research uses the concept of product development strategy which is commonly used in business and industry, especially the publishing industry. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze, describe, and explain the diversification that may be used for students of Publishing. The object of the research is the student's final thesis product Publishing from 2015 to 2020. This research also aims to find a new formulation for writing a publishing final project product, especially in the fiction category. The results of this study show that in the 2015 to 2020 period, there are only 4 types of fiction that keep repeating itself, and there is only 1 work in the form of a flashlight book as part of manual product development. This research resulted in a further mapping of the stages of diversification that students could choose and their product forms.

Abstract

The study tour to Yogyakarta is an annual activity carried out by several Depok, West Java schools. This activity aims for cultural tourism, nature tourism, as well as refreshments for students. The article focuses on how the use of study tour activities as a medium for writing book manuscripts for junior high school students is correlated with the school's literacy program. The method used is the participatory method, involving 74 students of SMP Negeri 10 Depok. The steps taken were (1) discussions with school partners, (2) nonfiction writing workshops, (3) writing assistance, and (4) an editorial process. School partners support this activity by assigning four teachers as facilitators or accompanying teachers. The nonfiction writing workshop is in the form of a webinar and was held before the study tour. Writing assistance is provided by the team to students both individually and in groups. The finished manuscripts written by students then enter the editorial process, including the editing and graphic design processes. The book Healing and Exploring Yogyakarta is the outcome of this activity and will be published by Shinna Media Publishing.

Abstract

Membangun sebuah cerita dalam film tidak dapat lepas dari ketegangan cerita yang dibangun melalui konflik. Konflik memiliki berbagai elemen dan tingkatan yang berfungsi sebagai kejutan disetiap akhir scene atau sequence. Teks film merupakan rangkaian konflik yang diberi benang merah cerita, dan dibawakan melalui peran tokoh di dalamnya. Penokohan dalam sebuah film tidak bisa lepas dari symbol yang melekat pada identitas masing-masing karakter. Salah satunya film bergenre superhero seperti “The Dark Knight. Masing-masing tokoh merupakan symbol tekstual yang muncul melalui karakter, kostum dan analogi. Film menjadi alat untuk menampilkan kembali identitas individu dengan mengintertekstualkan realitas dan imajinasi.

Abstract

Publishing is one of the creative industry sub-sectors that continues to grow in Indonesia. This research was carried out as a form of implementing digital publishing knowledge and digital marketing communication knowledge in the Publishing Study Program at Polimedia. The purpose of this research is to explain the creation of a digital catalogue that functions as an archive or database of the works of Publishing Study Program students, and as a promotional medium to a wider audience, as well as a capital for future entrepreneurial practices. The method used is qualitative-descriptive research with data collection techniques through literature/document studies, observation, and interviews. In practice, the research team carried out four stages of work, namely: (1) planning the concept of a website and digital catalogue, (2) compiling data and creating a manual catalogue, (3) compiling website content and website design, and (4) data integration (catalogue) to the website. The results obtained from this applied research are the establishment of a website http://katalog-bukupolimedia.my.id as a digital catalog of works by the Publishing Study Program students at Polimedia.
