Abstract

This study aims to improve learning outcomes and activeness in the fifth grade Mathematics subject at SD Muhammadiyah Lubuklinggau by applying a snowball throw. This type of research is classroom action research conducted in two cycles, there are several stages, namely observation, observation, and planning. The subject of this study was to find fifth grade students at SD Muhammadiyah Lubuklinggau who reached 20 students. The results of this study stated that the low learning outcomes in Mathematics as seen in the mastery of students who achieved the KKM were 6 students (30%) in the first cycle with an average value of 62.5 while the second cycle experienced an increase in learning outcomes, there were 11 students ( 55%) which was completed with an average score of 74 which also resulted in an increase in student activity. Also affecting the activeness of students in the application of the snowball throw method there were 12 students (60%) in the first cycle while the second cycle experienced an increase which was also found in 26 students (77%).
