Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : (1) keadaan faktor-faktor industri ditinjau dari modal, bahan baku, tenaga kerja dan pemasaran. (2) pendapatan pengusaha industri kecil mebel di Kecamatan Sei Rampah. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pengusaha yang bekerja dalam usaha industri mebel di Kecamatan Sei Rampah dengan jumlah 33 pengusaha. Mengingat populasi yang jumlahnya terbatas maka populasi dijadikan sekaligus sebagai sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni komunikasi langsung, kemudian data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) modal operasionalrata-rata pengusaha mebel di Kecamatan Sei Rampah adalah  Rp.14.166.666, dimana 66,67% bersumber dari modal pribadi dan yang 33,33% merupakan modal pribadi ditambah modal pinjaman. Bahan baku yang digunakan pengusahaadalah kayu durianyang diperoleh dari luar Kecamatan Sei Rampah. Jumlah bahan baku yang digunakan paling banyak 67.848 m3 dan paling sedikit 1.027 m3 dengan rata-rata 19.846 m3. Tenaga kerjayang dipekerjakan berasal dari daerah sekitar industri dengan jumlah 5 - 19 orang. Dilihat dari pemasaran, pada umumnya (81,82%) pengusaha melakukan pemasaran secara tidak langsung (melalui agen) dan daerah pemasarannya mayoritas ke luar daerah sehingga tergolong dalam pemasaran regional. (2)Pendapatanrata-rata pengusaha adalah Rp.11.214.010, dimana nilai ini sudah berada diatas UMK Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai tahun 2011 Bila dilhat dari pendapatan perkapita, maka 96,96% pengusaha berpenghasilan berada diatas UMK atau hanya 3,04% yang berada dibawah UMK.Kata Kunci : Industri Kecil Mebel, Faktor-faktor industri

Abstract

This study explores the teacher's difficulties in teaching reading skills in exposition texts at SMAN 1 Percut Sei Tuan. The research focuses on identifying the challenges faced by the teacher in teaching students' reading skills. Through a qualitative analysis, the studies identifies that the teacher encountered several difficulties is related to the students' limited vocabulary, lack of students' reading comprehension, pronunciation, students' reading interest, and provide the variety of reading materials. The students' ability to read aloud the text clearly is still low. Mispronunciation words and their interest in reading exposition text were reflected in their unenthusiastic participation during classroom reading activities and their lack of initiative in answering the teacher's question while reading the text. Furthermore, the findings highlight that these difficulties affected to the teaching and learning process into stiff and less enjoyable classroom atmosphere. It make the teacher often repeatedly explain the text and guide the students just to read it properly. Despite of that difficulties, the overall result emphasize that the importance ability of the teacher to manage on how the exposition text is understandable and suitable for the students' english level is important to adapt for the effective teaching reading skills. The study concludes that the difficulties are interconnected and influenced by students' ability, motivation and classroom engagement.
