Abstract

Lobster Air Tawar (LAT) merupakan salah satu komoditas perikanan yang bernilai ekonomis dan sudah banyak dibudidayakan oleh masyarakat. Masyarakat banyak memperdagangkan lobster ini untuk keperluan konsumsi maupun hiasan akuarium. Semakin tingginya permintaan akan Lobster air tawar ini ternyata tidak diimbangi dengan jumlah ketersediaan benih yang ada, bahkan sering terjadi kelangkaan benih dipasaran. Hal ini sebenarnya merupakan sebuah peluang sekaligus tantangan bagi para pembudidaya untuk bisa lebih mengembangkan usaha budidaya terutama komoditas Lobster air tawar ini dan menjaga keberlanjutan produksinya. Akan tetapi kurangnya pengetahuan, ketrampilan dan informasi terkait teknik pembenihan lobster oleh para pembudidaya membuat produksi benih masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu kegiatan aplikasi teknologi pembenihan lobster air tawar menjadi salah satu usaha untuk dapat meningkatkan produksi benih dan mengatasi kelangkaan benih serta menigkatkan profitabilitas pembudidaya lobster.Aplikasi teknologi yang diterapkan pada kegiatan pembenihan lobster air tawar diantaranya yaitu pembuatan akuarium dan shelter, pemijahan lobster menggunakan rasio indukan, dan pemijahan lobster serta pemeliharaan larva di akuarium. Kegiatan ini ternyata meingkatkan produksi benih dan profitabilitas pembudidaya lobster. Produksi benih meningkat 4 kali lipat dibandingkan dengan metode pembenihan konvensional, dengan nilai survival rate (SR) sebesar 75% yang berarti meningkat 35%.Sedangkan tingkat keuntungan atau profitabilitas per tahun dapat dilihat dari nilai pendapatan; keuntungan; R/C ratio;  Pay back Period (PP); Break Event Point (BEP)sales; dan BEP unit; serta Rentabilitas berturut-turut yaitu Rp 13.500.000,00; Rp 6.892.000,00; 2.04; 0.96; Rp 949.999,00; dan 948 ekor; serta 104,3%.

Abstract

AbstractThe organic material has a major influence on the development of earthworm population because the organic material contained in the media is needed to continue living. Earthworm species are very potential to be developed is a kind of Lumbricus rubellus. Tofu dregswere chosen because it has a high protein content that can accelerate growth. In addition, the availability of raw material tofu dregs will facilitate cultivation of earthworms and sustainability of this activity given the Kediri district as one of the producers of tofu and will automatically donate a sizeable tofu waste. Further use of tofu waste as raw material for the cultivation of earthworm media intended to reduce the impact of environmental pollution which may occur from the waste production of tofu. Results of growth of earthworms on organic waste media (Tofu Dregs, cow manure, sawdust and soil) fermented influence on the growth of biomass of earthworms L. rubellus shown the best results with a tofu dregs of the media gain value by an average of 87.78 g with SD ± 5.87 and the value of the average productivity of 2.92 g / day with SD ± 0.19. Production of earthworms increased from the initial weight of 1 kg to 3 kg within ± 45 days maintenance.

Abstract

Indonesian waters have six types of turtles that can live, spawn and breed. Sea turtle conservation becomes an important and urgent program to be done in order to protect and save sea turtle population in Indonesia. One of the factors that most affect the turtle population is the cause of degradation of pathogenic factors. Alas Purwo National Park, East Java, there is some communities that have activities turtle conservation. Conservation is done by securing and protecting turtle eggs. Turtle eggs that have hatched are released into the sea once it is ready. This study aims was to determine the type of bacteria and fungi that infect hatchlings and environmental factors that influence. This research is descriptive method to Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricate) is by way of random sampling. Sampling of microbes in sea turtle was conducted using cotton swab method and then microbes was cultured and indentified in laboratory. The results showed The kind of parasites and microbes which were indentified in hatching and adult Hawksbill sea turtles were fungus with genus Aspergillus sp., Geotrichum sp., Fusarium sp., and Gliocladium sp. ; bacteria are Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacter cloaceae; and parasite is Chelonibia testudinaria barnacles.  The parameter average value of water in pond indicated 28.1 – 29.2°C for temperature, 32 - 34 ‰ for salinity, 7.78 – 8.2 for pH, and 3.86 – 4.21 mg/L for DO.

Abstract

A bacterial disease that infects freshwater fish, especially tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), is a septicemia disease caused by Pseudomonas fluorescens infection. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Bacillus subtilis on the survival of tilapia infected with P. fluorescens in vivo. The doses of B. subtilis used were different for each treatment, namely A (104 CFU/ml), B (106 CFU/ml), and C (108 CFU/ml). Fish were kept for 7 days to calculate their survival rate. Dosage of B. subtilis bacteria had a significant effect (α > 0,05) on the survival of tilapia infected with P. fluorescens bacteria. The best dose of B. subtilis in treatment A (104 CFU/ml) could increase the survival rate of tilapia infected with P. fluorescens with a survival rate of 93.33 ± 11.55%. The average ranges of water quality during the maintenance period are 25°-30°C, pH 7.2-9, and dissolved oxygen 5.50-7.00 ppm.

Abstract

The surrounding community activities in the area of milkfish ponds include residential and household waste so that it will affect the water source used for milkfish farms (Chanos chanos Forskal). Due to changes in water quality, it will be known how the condition of pond water quality will affect the abundance of phytoplankton and the growth of milkfish (Chanos chanos Forskal). This study aims to determine the relationship of plankton abundance with the growth of milkfish (Chanos chanos Forskal) in traditional ponds. The method used is the descriptive method. The study was conducted in March - May. The results of the regression analysis for plankton abundance found a relationship that affects a specific growth rate of 83% and 17% influenced by other factors. The correlation coefficient (r) obtained is 0.91 so that it can be said that the abundance of plankton influences the specific growth rate classified as strong. Based on the value of b = 0.0156x (positive relationship) means that if plankton abundance rises the rate of growth also increases by 0.015. If the plankton does not exist or 0 then the rate will decrease by 94.

Abstract

Infeksi penyakit menjadi satu masalah yang masih sering timbul pada budidaya ikan patin. Salah satu penyakit yang sering timbul dalam budidaya ikan patin adalah penyakit MES (Motile Edwardsiella Septicemia) atau yang biasa dikenal dengan Edwardsielliosis. Penyebab penyakit MES adalah adanya infeksi dari bakteri Edwardsiella tarda.Bakteri E. tardamerupakan bakteri patogen yang memiliki dampak negatif bagi budidaya ikan air tawar. Analisis darah dilakukan untuk mengetahui kondisi kesehatan ikan yang terinfeksi bakteri E. tarda. Sampel ikan patin diambil dari pembudidaya ikan di Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Hasil identifikasi isolat bakteri dari ikan patin menggunakan uji biokimia yaitu ikan positif terinfeksi Bakteri Edwardsiella tarda. Kondisi kesehatan ikan dapat dilihat melalui pemeriksaan darah meliputi eritrosit, leukosit, differensial leukosit (limfosit, monosit, dan neutrofil) dengan hasil 2,480±0.032; 3,460±0.087; 80,38±0.34; 12,85±0.12; dan 6,77±0.28 secara berturut-turut pada ikan patin normal, sedangkan pada ikan patin yang terinfeksi bakteri E. tardayaitu 1,695±0,041; 7,795±0,095; 52,15±0.26;33,61±0.52; dan 14,24±0.47 secara berturut-turut. Ikan patin yang terinfeksi bakteri Edwardsiella tardamenunjukkan kondisi kesehatan yang kurang baik, yang ditunjukkan dari peningkatan nilai leukosit, monosit, dan neutrofil sebagai bentuk respon kekebalan tubuh terhadap infeksi bakteri.

Abstract

Edwardsielliosis is a disease that commonly infects freshwater fish including catfish (Clarias sp). Edwardsielliosis is caused by Edwardsiella tarda infection and causes mass mortality in catfish farming. Overcoming diseases in freshwater fish can use drugs or antibiotics that are classified as safe and their use is in accordance with government regulations. This study aims to determine the appropriate dosage of Oxytetracycline in catfish infected by E. tarda bacteria through histological analysis. The study design used Completely Randomized Design with 3 treatments, 1 control and 3 replications in each treatment. Catfish used were ± 25 cm in size and the dose of oxytetracycline used were 15, 30, and 45 ppm. The results showed tissue damage edema, vacuolization, necrosis, and haemorhage in fish infected with Edwardsiella tarda bacteria with the lowest damage at 45 ppm of oxytetracycline treatment. The results indicate that oxytetracycline has an effect on muscle histology and recovery of fish health.
