Abstract

Agriculture is one of the main centers as source of livelihood for the people  in west aceh  regency,  this  can  be  seen  from  the  yields  of farmers  which  are increasing  every  year.  However,  the  increase  in yields  is  inversely  proportional  to  the  welfare  of  the  west  aceh farmers,  due to the  influence of price manipulation by middlemen. This   study   aims   to   examine   the   role  and  supervision   of   the government  in protecting the rights of  farmers from middlemen in west Aceh district. The method used in this research is  qualitative with  a  variety  of  secondary  data  analysis   techniques   and  used scientific narrative review data analysis techniques. The results show that discrimination against farmer by middlemen was indeed common in west Aceh. The role of the west Aceh government in overcoming this problem is by providing education, issuing policies on program for providing business capital to farmers. Meanwhile, the supervision that the goverment faces is in the form of a minumun level of public response to policies that have been regulated by the government and a lack of trust from the peasant community in the government.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the structure of phytoplankton community in Jetty post-loading and unloading of coal, to know the abundance of phytoplankton, phytoplankton diversity index, and the dominance of phytoplankton species and to know the relevance of phytoplankton with physical and chemical parameters in the marine waters of Suak Indrapuri. This research was conducted on May-June 2017 which is located in the waters of Jetty port of Suak Indrapuri Meulaboh Village, Aceh Barat District. Research method used survey method with random sampling technique (simple random sampling). The results of identification of phytoplankton produced during the study found 8 species and 2 classes consisting of Chaetoceros curvisetus, Chaetoceros decipiens, Eucampia zoodiacus, Gyrosigma kutzingii, Rhizoselenia hebetata forma hiemalis, Thallasiothrix sp (Bacillariophyceae class) and Coscinodiscus sp, Skeletonema costatum (Coscinodiscophyceae class). The abundance of phytoplankton during the study ranged from 160-373 cells/l, said the abundance and spread of phytoplankton in the low-grade criteria. The phytoplankton diversity index during the study ranged from 1.775-1.925, which had the diversity and number of individuals of each type of medium phytoplankton, and the dominant index ranged from 0.55-1.566 the dominance of the species species of the phytoplankton medium was high. Measuring the quality of the marine waters of Indrapuri Suak with values varying between stations. Salinity is 15.2-38.2 ppt, the pH is relatively equal to the value of 7, Nitrate (NO3) 1.056-9.133 mg/l, temperature 25-27.4 0C, brightness 0.70-1.21 m, and current velocity 0.22-0.36 cm/sec. So the measuring value of seawater quality influences the life of phytoplankton organisms in the marine waters of Suak Indrapuri Meulaboh Aceh Barat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of teamwork, team engagement, and job distress on employee productivity in the automotive industry in West Aceh, as well as examine the mediating role of job distress. The research employed a quantitative explanatory approach, involving 70 automotive sales respondents. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The results show that teamwork has a positive and significant effect on productivity, with a T-statistic value of 22.847 and a P-value of 0.000, indicating that teamwork is the most dominant factor in enhancing productivity. In contrast, team engagement does not significantly affect productivity, as reflected by a T-statistic of 1.862 and a P-value of 0.066. Regarding job distress, both teamwork (T-statistic 3.058, P-value 0.003) and team engagement (T-statistic 6.704, P-value 0.000) were found to have a positive and significant effect, meaning that higher teamwork dynamics and team involvement tend to increase psychological pressure among employees. Furthermore, job distress has a negative and significant effect on productivity, with a T-statistic of 1.997 and a P-value of 0.049, indicating that higher distress leads to lower productivity. The mediation analysis reveals that job distress does not mediate the relationship between teamwork and productivity (T-statistic 1.394, P-value 0.166), but significantly mediates the relationship between team engagement and productivity (T-statistic 2.003, P-value 0.048). Overall, the findings highlight the importance of strengthening teamwork to boost productivity, while also emphasizing the need to manage job distress to prevent psychological pressure from hindering employee performance in the automotive sales sector of West Aceh.
