The difference in duration of labor for the treatment and control group were tested with Mann Whitney. There was a difference in the effect of using a birth ball with pelvic rocking technique in length of labor in kala I active phase in the treatment and control groups with p-value 0.001. The use of birth ball with pelvic rocking technique is evidence to speed the duration of labor in kala I active phase. Birth ball with pelvic rocking are recommended to be use an alternative to speed the duration of labor in kala I active phase in midwifery services

Abstract

Pain during primary dysmenorrhea is a normal gynecological condition, but this condition is often detrimental to women who experience dysmenorrhea, including decreased quality of work, absence when experiencing primary dysmenorrhea and disruption of daily activities. One method that is safe and easy to obtain is by administering ginger and turmeric extract accompanied by acupressure to help reduce the intensity of menstrual pain and lower back pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of ginger turmeric extract and acupressure on the intensity of menstrual pain and low back pain in primary dysmenorrhea. This type of quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design carried out in the female dormitory of the Lubuk Pakam Medistra Health Institute. The sample in this study were 28 students in the first semester of the Faculty of Nursing who experienced primary dysmenorrhea using a random sample technique. In this study there were two groups, namely the intervention group and the control group. The instruments in this study were the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) to measure pain during menstruation, the Qswestry Low Back Pain Disability Questionnaire to measure low back pain, and an observation sheet. Data analysis using independent and dependent t-test. The results showed that there were significant differences in the intensity of menstrual pain and low back pain on the first and second days between the intervention group and the control group with p H1 = 0.003 and p H2 = 0.000 (menstrual pain) and p H1&2 = 0.000 (low back pain). . The percentage decrease in the intensity of menstrual pain with intervention was 66.81%, while the percentage decrease in low back pain was 35.29%. Giving turmeric ginger extract and acupressure therapy has been proven effective in reducing the intensity of menstrual pain and low back pain. Health workers can apply and educate this method to women who experience dysmenorrhea and can be used as learning material for pain management in midwifery education courses.

Abstract

Abstract Hypertension is a chronic disease that often results in complications for other organs. Based on the findings of recent evidence that giving celery leaf decoction can lower blood pressure. Health promotion activities through the provision of celery leaf stew can be used as an alternative in promoting early prevention and treatment of hypertension cases that often occur in menopausal women. The goal of this community service is to improve the quality of life of menopausal women by helping to lower blood pressure non-pharmacologically and reducing the side effects felt in women with hypertension. Celery leaves stew can be given once a day on a regular basis. The implementation of this community service lasted for 2 days at the Head Office of Sidodadi Ramunia Village, Beringin Deli Serdang District. This activity begins with conducting a rapid test for all respondents, followed by a blood pressure check before the promotion of the activity. On the second day of implementation, each respondent took blood pressure measurements to see the decrease in blood pressure for each respondent. The results of blood pressure examinations from 32 respondents showed a decrease in sysitolic blood pressure by 32 people (100%) and a decrease in diastolic blood pressure by 28 people (81.25%). Celery leaves decoction can be useful for hypertensive women to lower and control blood pressure. Keywords: health promotion, celery leaves, blood pressure, hypertension
