<![CDATA[ABSTRAKLatar belakang: Buah mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia Linn) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat tradisional yang memiliki fungsi sebagai antibakteri. Zat antibakteri yang terkandung dalam buah mengkudu seperti scopoletin, flavonoid, polifenol, acubin dan antraquinon termasuk zat-zat antibakteri yang dapat membunuh bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektifitas ekstrak buah mengkudu terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Tujuan: Mengetahui konsentrasi efektif ekstrak mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia Linn) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan post-test design group. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sumuran dengan tiga kali pengulangan dan delapan kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kontrol negatif, kontrol positif yang diberi vankomisin, dan enam kelompok perlakuan dengan konsentrasi ekstrak mengkudu 5%, 15%, 30%, 45%, 60%, dan 75%. Media yang digunakan sebagai uji antibakteri menggunakan Manitol Salt Agar (MSA). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Kruskall-Wallis dan dilanjutkan dengan Mann-Whitney untuk mengetahui perbedaan pada setiap konsentrasi dengan lebih jelas. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata zona hambat konsentrasi tiap konsentrat dan kontrol mempunyai daya hambat terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dengan kemampuan yang berbeda. Perlakuan dengan konsentrasi 75% dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus paling optimal dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat sebesar 15,33 mm. Hasil analisis didapatkan H1 diterima yaitu konsentrasi ekstrak mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia linn) efektif terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dengan p<0,03 (p<0,05). Simpulan : Konsentrasi 75% ekstrak mengkudu merupakan konsentrasi efektif terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.Kata Kunci: Antibakteri, Ekstrak Mengkudu, Staphylococcus aureus ABSTRACTBackground: Mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia linn) is a conventional medical plant which assumed has an antibacteria. The antibacteria essence that consists in Mengkudu fruit are scopoletin, flavonoid, polifenol, acubi, and antraquinon. Those antibacteria essence have an ability to destroy or kill Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The aim of this research is to find out the effectivenes of mengkudu extract towards Staphylococcus aureus. Aim: to find out the effective consentration of mengkudu extract (Morinda citrifolia linn) towards Staphylococcus aureus. Method: this study is an experimental research using post-test group design. The method of this research is well difussion method with three times cycles and there were eight group of control. The group were one negative control group, one positive control group which given vankomisin, and six experimental groups that given the mengkudu extract with the level of 5%, 15%, 30%, 45%, 60%, and 75%. To examine the antibacteria, the writer used media using Manitol Salt Agar(MSA). The writer used Kruskall-Wallis test to analyze he data which was carried on using Mann-Whitney to clearly examine the differential result in each consentration level. Result: The result of the study showed that the average of clear zone consentration in each level of concentrate and the different ability of mengkudu extract to make an obstruction power towards Staphylococcus aureus. An experiment at the 75% consentration level that obstruct the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria is the most effective consentration with the diameter average of clear zone was 15,33 mm. The H1 is accepted, it was proven by the finding of mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia linn) extraction is effective towards Staphylococcus aureus with p<0,03 (p<0,05). Conclusion: The 75% consentration of mengkudu extract was the most effective consentration towards Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.
