Abstrak Pendahuluan : Peningkatan dan penurunan tekanan darah sistolik, tekanan darah diastolik, tekanan nadi dan tekanan arteri rata-rata pada usia pertengahan berhubungan denan peningkatan resiko penurunan fungsi kogiitif di kemudian hari.Metode :Penelitian ini merupakan studi potong lintang dengan subjek 130 orang pada usia >_ 50 tahun di Poli Umun Departemen Neurologi RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan dan Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha (PSTW) Karya Kasih Medan. Hasil:Dari 130 orang subjek terdiri dari 51 orang laki-laki (39.2%) dan 79 orang perempuan (60.8%). Hubungan tekanan darah sistolik dengan MMSE (r--0.203, p=0.021) dan CDT (r--0.221' p=0.012). Hubungan tekanan darah diastolik dengan MMSE (r= 0.037, p=0.677) dan CDT (r- 0.039, p=0.663). Hubungon tekanan nadi dengan MMSE (r- -0.212,p=0.015) can CDT (r- -0.250 p= 0.004). Hubungan tekanan arteri rata-rata dengan MMSE (r= -0.180, p=0.040) dan CDT (r- -0.175 dan p= 0.047) Diskusi :.Hubugan tekanan darah sistolik, tekanan nadi dan tekanan arteri rata-rata memiliki korelasi negatif yang signifikan terhadap fungsi kognitif. Namun pada tekanan darah diastolik memiliki korelasi positif yang tidak signifikan terhadap fungsi kognitif.Kata Kunci :Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) : Clock Drawing Test(CDT); fungsi kognitif. Abstract Introduction : Elevated and decreased systolic blood pressure, dyastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure and mean arterial pressure in midlife were associated with increased risk for cognitive function impairment later in life.Methods :This study was a cross-sectional study with 130 subjects at ·3d 50 years old in Department Neurology of Haji Adam Malik General Hospital and Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha (PSTW) Karya Kasih Medan. Results : From 130 subjects consisted of 51 men (39.2%)and 79 women (60.8%). The correlation systolic blood pressure vtith MMS (r=-0.203, p=0.021) and CDT (r=-0.221,p=0.012). The correlation dyastolic blood pressure with MMSE (r- 0.037, p=0.218) and CDT (r = 0.039,p=0.663). The correlation pulse pressure with MMSE (r =-0.212,p=0.015) and CDT (r = -0.250, p=0.004). The correlation mean arterial pressure with MM (r =-0.180,p=0 .040) and CDT (r =-0.174 and p= 0.047). Discussion :The correlation of systolic blood pressure,pulse pressure and mean arterial pressure had a significant negative correlation to cognitive function.
