Abstract

This research aimed at increasing student problem-solving ability on Mathematics subject through Thinking Skill Enhancementlearning strategy at the fourth grade of Islamic Elementary School of Al WathaniyahTualang, Tualang District, Siak Regency. This research was instigated by the low of student problem-solving ability, it could be seen from 3 of 20 students or 15% showing problem-solving ability that was on good category because many students were not yet able to understand the problems, tocarry out calculations, and to do planning to complete and recheckcalculation results properly. It was a Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this research were a teacher and 20 students atIslamic Elementary School of Al WathaniyahTualang, Tualang District, Siak Regency. Observation, test, and documentation were the techniques of collecting the data. Analyzing the data was done by using qualitative descriptive analysis with percentage. Based on the research finding and data analysis, it showed problem-solving ability that 3 students or 15% were on good category before the action. After implementing Thinking Skill Enhancementlearning strategy in the first cycle, student problem-solving ability increased, 14 students or 70% were on good category. In the second cycle, student problem-solving ability increased, 20 students or 100% were on good category. It meant that it had achieved the successful indicator that was determined. Therefore, it could be concluded that the implementation of Thinking Skill Enhancementlearning strategy could increase student problem-solving ability on Mathematics subjectat the fourth grade of Islamic Elementary School of Al WathaniyahTualang, Tualang District, Siak Regency.

Abstract

This research aimed at developing student workbook Problem Based Learning model based that was valid and practical to increase student mathematic problem-solving ability.  This research was instigated by student mathematic problem-solving ability that was on low category, student workbook that was inappropriate to increase student mathematic problem-solving ability.  It was a Research and Development with 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) model.  The subjects of this research were 39 students of the fifth grade of class C, and the object was mathematics student workbook Problem Based Learning model based.  The collected data were primary, and the techniques of collecting the data were interview, questionnaire, test, and documentation.  The instruments of collecting the data were the instruments of validity test, practicality test, pretest and posttest questions of mathematic problem-solving ability.  The obtained data were analyzed by using Descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative analysis techniques.  Based on the research findings and data analyses, it could be concluded that validity level of student workbook was valid with 86.92% percentage, and it had been proper to be tested.  After testing, the practicality level was on very practical category with 95.6% percentage.  The analysis result of student mathematic problem-solving ability level after using the workbook generally was on high category with 83.06% percentage.  It meant that students were able to solve the problems overall.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pandemi covid-19 yang berdampak pada perubahan sistem pembelajaran tatap muka menjadi sistem pembelajaran daring. Untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran secara daring maka diperlukan media pembelajaran daring yang interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kelayakan multimedia interaktif  berbasis macromedia flash 8 pada materi kubus dan balok untuk siswa kelas V MI/SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Reasearch and Development yang menggunakan model pengembangan Borg and Gall. Subjek penelitian adalah 15 orang siswa kelas V SD Negeri 015 Palung Raya tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa pedoman wawancara,  lembar validasi dan angket. Lembar validasi yang diberikan kepada ahli media untuk menguji kevalidan dan angket diberikan kepada ahli materi untuk menguji kepraktisan multimedia interaktif berbasis macromedia flash 8 pada materi kubus dan balok. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan deskriptif kuantitatif. Berdasarkan penelitian dan analisis data disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis macromedia flash  8 pada kubus dan balok kelas V SD Negeri 015 Palung Raya khusus produk akhir yang dihasilkan telah memenuhi kriteria valid dengan skor rata-rata dari penilaian ahli media 91,6% dan ahli materi 100% dalam kategori sangat layak. Kemudian hasil respon pendidik dan peserta didik memperoleh 91,2% dengan kategori sangat baik dan telah memenuhi kriteria praktis. Kesimpulannya multimedia berbasis Macromedia Flash 8 pada materi jaring-jaring kubus dan balok telah layak untuk diujicobakan.
