Abstract

Cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is caused by the Dengue virus. Parasites which are transmitted by Aedes aegypti. Mosquito control has been widely practiced using both insecticides and bioinsecticides. One effort to avoid contact with mosquitoes is to use repellents that can be obtained from the extracts of plants in Indonesia. The Kilemo Plant (Litsea cubeba L. Person) grows wild in mountainous regions in Java and Sumatra. From the chemical component analysis of kilemo oil from West Java brass, the main components of the leaves and bark of kilemo stem are sineol, citronellol, sitronellal, limonene, α-pinen and β-pinen. Subsequent research was conducted to determine the ability of kilemo essential oil as a bio repellent (repellent) of mosquitoes by smearing it on the skin of mice. The research method uses experiments. Kilemo concentration used in this study were 5 treatment concentrations (0.0%; 0.5%; 1.0%; 1.5%; 2.0%) with 3 repetitions, observed for 10 minutes, then data obtained will be a percentage table of respondents. The research results obtained prove that kilemo oil can be a biorepellent for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes with a percentage of repellents of 50%  with kilemo concentration of 2.0%.   Keywords: Biorepellent Litsea cubeba (Kilemo), Aedes aegypti,DHF
