Abstract

Reading comprehension is a process to recognize the text and remember any information in the text. The preliminary observation found that the students in Junior High School had problem in reading comprehension. The students were difficult to find general informatioin, specific information, textual meaning and recognize textual reference in the reading text. Classroom Action Research dealt with improving reading comprehension through Question Answer Relationship strategy of the Eight Grade studenta of SMP Tunas Pelita Binjai that consised of 20 students. This research was conducted in two cycles. The data were analyzed by comparing the resulit of pre-test and post-test in cycle 1 and cycle 2 that were given to ethe subjects. Based on the data analysis,it was found that the students’ score improved. In the Pre-test, the mean of the students’ score is 56,25 and the number of students about 75 (KKM) is 7 students. In cycle 1, the mean of the students’ score is 72,25 and the number of students about 75 (KKM) is 12 students. And the lst, in the cycle 2 the mean of the students’ score is 83,75 and the number of students about 75 (KKM) is 17 students. Based on the observation,sheet, it shows that the expression and excitement of the students were also improved. It suggested that an English teacher apply this strategy as one of the alternative in teaching reading comprehension. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menjawab permasalahan atas pelaksanaan kebijakan Pendidikan pasca Covid-19 yang lalu yang mana dengan terbitnya Keputusan Menteri Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset dan Teknologi Nomor 56 Tahun 2022 tentang Pedoman Penerapan Kurikulum Dalam Rangka Pemulihan Pembelajaran atau yang dikenal dengan ”kurikulum merdeka belajar.” Beberapa penelitian yang sejenis yang berupaya untuk mengetahui nbagaoimana dampak dari kebijakan pelaksanaan kurikulum merdeka belajar di sekolah dasar. Namun penelitian ini agak berbeda dengan penelitian terdahulu karena penelitian ini ditinjau dari variabel efektifitas program dari Budiani. Riset ini mengunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe riset studi permasalahan, serta yang menjadi informan adalah: kepala dan wakil kepala sekolah di SDN Wonorejo 274 Surabaya, siswa dan orang tua siswa. Dari hasil penelitian ini ditemukan beberapa hal, yaitu: (1) sasaran program relatif belum tercapai secara penuh, namun telah merubah perilaku para aktor pemangku kepentingan; (2) pelaksanaan sosialisasi program telah menyampaikan kebijakan kurikulum merdeka belajar secara efektif; (3) pelaksanaan kebijakan kurikulum merdeka belajar telah ditetapkan oleh pihak sekolah tentang tujuan program dalam bentuk Buku Panduan Pelaksanaan Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar; (4) pemantauan terhadap pelaksanaan dilakukan secara periodik setiap tri wulan atau tiga bulan sekali, bersamaan dengan persiapan pelaksanaan ujian sekolah. Hasil pemantauan ini telah dijadikan bahan evaluasi terhadap pelaksanaan program kurikulum merdeka belajar.

Abstract

The objective of the study is to find out the improvement Students' Writing Skill Of Procedure Text By Using Picture Series Of Eigh Grade Year Student SMP IT An-Naas Binjai In Academic Year 2017/2018. The subjects of this study are students who sit in class VIIISMP IT An-Naas BinjaiAcademic Year 2017/2018 there are 32 Students consisting of 13 Men and 19 Women. And the object in this study is all student in eight grade SMP IT An-Naas Binjai. The improvement of this classroom action research can be known from the learning process and the result of the writing of the Student Text Procedure after being given action by using picture series. Improvement of the process can be seen from the motivation of student learning to be better with the student's enthusiasm in writing procedure text with the existence of picture picture will facilitate students in making dialog in procedure text, students' imagination become more developed, and student literature appreciation woke up well. In cycle I, 22 students are failed and 10 students are good. In cycle II, 5 students are failed, 23 students are good and 4 students are Very good.From the results of this study it can be concluded that the use of picture picture series can improve the ability of writing procedure text students.

Abstract

The maritime domain has become an area of increasing importance for global security and defense strategies. Maritime trade accounts for over 90% of global trade, and more than half of the world’s population lives within 60 kilometers of the sea. As such, the maritime domain has significant implications for national defense strategies, including potential threats, prioritizing defense programs, and maintaining a balance between defense and economic interests. The aim of this research is to examine the implications of maritime policy on national defense strategies. The research will address factors including assessing and prioritizing potential maritime threats, coordination and communication between various agencies and governments involved in maritime defense, maintaining a balance between defense and economic interests in maritime policy, the allocation of resources and investment in maritime defense programs, and the effectiveness of maritime defense strategies in achieving their intended outcomes. The research will also explore the changing nature of maritime threats and challenges, the relevance of a strong naval fleet in implementing a country's national defense strategy, the impact of maritime disputes, and the role of new technologies. A qualitative methods approach will be utilized, including a literature review, analysis of government policies and strategies, and interviews with government officials and experts in the field of maritime security. The study will focus on a range of countries with varying levels of maritime interests, including the United States, China, Japan, and Australia. The research findings will provide insights into the implications of maritime policy on national defense strategies and highlight key considerations for policymakers in assessing and prioritizing potential maritime threats, coordinating and communicating between various agencies and governments involved in maritime defense, and maintaining a balance between defense and economic interests in the maritime policy. The research will contribute to the understanding of the changing nature of maritime threats and the role of new technologies in national defense strategies. The limitations of this study are the limited scope of available data on maritime policy and the potential challenges to accurately measure and apply these policies to national defense strategies. In addition, the various interpretations and applications of maritime policy in different countries can further complicate the analysis and generalization of the findings.
