Abstract

Conceptual methaphors represent the way people think, speak and act. Inspite of their rhetorical function in literature, as an innovative language, they emerge as expressions to manifest every speaker’s experience. In political discourse, they are proposed to be an effective persuasive device to catch people’s attention and political elits. These metaphors are produced and being used so natural that they are treated as common expressions.The main issue is that the way in which metaphors are produced naturally.In response to the issue, the aim of this study is to describe the cognitive mechanism of conceptual metaphors, as a basis of linguistic metaphors. Emphirically, this study applied analytic descriptive qualitative method with reading and taking a note as techniques of collecting data – using distric election as data limitation. In analyzing data, classified data were analyzed using distributional technique of analytic descriptice. The result shows that conceptual metaphors in political discourse are interpreted as metaphors constructed through structural, orientational, and ontologis process.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the reaction mechanism of the formation released by Bruce Wayne's character to dampen impulses from the id structure. Reaction formation is a type of ego defense mechanism that seeks to lessen the anxiety impulse that is created by the id’ structure, which causes actions that are not in line with what the individual wishes to do or feel. This research technique examines Bruce Wayne's protection mechanisms in the film Batman Begins using qualitative approaches in a descriptive style (2005). According to research, Bruce Wayne's character uses reaction formation to defend others. To overcome the challenges he faced, Bruce's paradigm of his job as protector of the city of Gotham forced him to deploy formation reflexes. The findings of this study are expected to be used as a model for other researchers exploring the formation reaction defense mechanism in greater depth. Abstract

This study analyzes the propositions presented in Muhammad Ali's quotes shared on his Facebook account on February 12, 2013. These quotes become the main data, accompanied by Larson's theory of propositions as supporting data. the method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This study aims to reveal the meaning of the quote from Muhammad Ali. This method prioritizes broad understanding and solid explanations. By looking closely at these quotes, this research improves our understanding of the underlying meaning of Muhammad Ali's words. Through an analysis based on real objects. this study analyzes the overall content, context, and potential implications, which will reveal the meaning that is in this quote from Muhammad Ali.By analyzing the meaning and context in the quotations from Muhammad Ali, this study seeks to explore and reveal what Muhammad Ali meant to convey. This helps us gain greater insight into the true intent underlying the statement..
