Abstract

The background of this study is the low speed reading skills of class VI SDN 81 / II Muara Bungo students. The success of reading skills can not be separated from the accuracy of the selection of learning media used in the classroom. Media Marquee (running text media) is an alternative media that can be used to improve the process and student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of Marquee's media use to improve the process and learning outcomes of speed reading for grade 6 students of SDN 81 / II Muara Bungo. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two research cycles. The research data is in the form of test results and non-test results. Furthermore, the results of this study, namely (1) an increase in the speed reading process with Marquee media with an average gain of 215.5 or in the medium category, (2) an increase in the results of speed reading learning with Marquee media with an average gain 250.25 or in the fast category. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that Marquee's media effectively improves the speed reading skills of class VI SDN 81 / II Muara Bungo students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to describe some of the following: (1) the contribution of reading literature on short story writing skills texts by students, (2) the contribution of mastery of the concept of short stories short story text writing skills by students, and (3) the contribution of reading literature and mastery of the concept of short stories short story text writing skills by students of class XI SMAN 4 Muara Bungo. This research is a type of quantitative research by using descriptive and correlation design. The data of this research is the result of a questionnaire score reading literature, scores of short stories concept mastery test results, and the results of the test scores of text short story writing skills. The findings of the study are as follows: (1) interest in reading literature gives konrtibusi to text short story writing skills by 37.21%, (2) the mastery of the concept of short stories contributed to the text of the short story writing skills by 35%, (3) interest in reading literature and mastery of the short story concept jointly contribute to the text short story writing skills by 42,25%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering congregational prayer at SMK Raudhatul Mujawwidin Rimbo Bujang, Tebo Jambi. The background of this research is based on the importance of habituating worship practices in schools as part of Islamic education and students’ religious character formation. Schools, especially those with pesantren-based systems, play a strategic role in cultivating discipline, spirituality, and moral values through structured religious activities. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research design. The research subjects included PAI teachers, the school principal, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The results indicate that PAI teachers play a significant role in fostering congregational prayer through role modeling, habituation, motivation, supervision, and cooperation with other teachers and dormitory supervisors. The implementation of congregational prayer has been carried out regularly, particularly for Dzuhur prayer at school and other obligatory prayers in the dormitory. Supporting factors include pesantren-based school policies, teacher commitment, and educative sanctions. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited prayer facilities, technical constraints, and student discipline issues. Overall, the role of PAI teachers significantly contributes to strengthening students’ discipline and religious character through structured and consistent congregational prayer activities.
