Abstract

An Experiment was conducted to evaluate tolerancy to aluminium toxicity of several soybean pure lines generated from Dempo x wills on two levels of Al-Saturation of Red Yellow Podzolic soil. The experiment was arranged in a split plot design based on a randomized complete block design. The main plots were Al-saturation and the sub-plot were cultivars and pure lines. The result showed that T33, R22, and S4 were very tolerant to acid soil and Al-saturation.

Abstract

Saline soil is widely distributed in Indonesia. This soil could inhibit and reduce growth and production. The aims of this research was to know the responce of several soybean varieties and lines to salinity. The result of this research showed that line name T22 was susceptible to saline soil. Mlg 2510 line was very tolerant to saline soil, and  on 0.4% salt concentration this line still produced seed.; Key words: Soybean, Saline soil.
