Abstract

Background: The rapid advancement of technology has increased smartphone usage among school-aged children, potentially affecting their academic motivation and focus. This concern has prompted investigations into the relationship between smartphone use and learning behavior, particularly in elementary education. Objective: This study aims to determine whether limiting the use of smartphones has an impact on students’ learning interest in elementary schools. Method: The study employed an ex post facto research design. It was conducted at SDI Daar Al Iman in 2021, involving a sample of 31 students. Data were collected using scales measuring smartphone use restriction and learning interest, then analyzed using simple linear regression. Result: The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000, which is less than the alpha level of 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). This indicates that limiting smartphone use has a significant effect on students’ interest in learning. Conclusion: The study concludes that restrictions on smartphone usage positively influence students' learning interests at school, suggesting that smartphone management can be an effective strategy to enhance academic engagement. Contribution: The findings provide practical and theoretical insights for teachers, educational practitioners, and future researchers. They highlight the importance of regulating smartphone use as a novel approach to support and sustain students’ learning motivation in the classroom.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Model pembelajaran adalah suatu perencanaan atau suatu pola yang digunakan sebagai pedoman dalam merencanakan pembelajaran di kelas atau pembelajaran dalam tutorial. Model pembelajaran ini mengacu pada pendekatan pembelajaran yang akan digunakan, termasuk didalamnya tujuan pengajaran, tahap-tahap kegiatan pembelajaran, lingkungan pembelajaran dan pengelolaan kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap aktivitas dan cara berpikir kritis peserta didik pada satuan pendidikan SD Negeri Penanggapan 04 materi Perkalian bilangan cacah dengan metode perkalian garis ala Jepang. Subjek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 34 peserta didik. Penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dalam metode penyelesaian masalah pada peserta didik dalam penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran Matematika. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif,Sehingga dalam proses penelitian dapat memudahkan pembaca dalam mengkaji serta menelaah proses yang terjadi dalam penelitian ini. Adapun Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan observasi non-partisipan yang dalam pelaksanaannya, peneliti tidak terlibat dalam kegiatan informan yang diteliti. Setelah penelitian ini dilakukan Dari hasil yang telah diteliti ditemukan fakta bahwa model pembelajaran problem based learning merupakan metode pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan di kelas 4 dan dapat meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran peserta didik. Kata kunci: Model Pembelajaran, Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Matematika APPLICATION OF THE PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL IN MATHEMATICS LESSONS MULTIPLICATION MATERIAL LAT NUMBERS IN CLASS IV STUDENTS ANSWER STATE PRIMARY SCHOOL 04 ABSTRACT A learning model is a plan or pattern that is used as a guide in planning learning in class or learning in tutorials. This learning model refers to the learning approach that will be used, including teaching objectives, stages of learning activities, learning environment and classroom management. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the activities and critical thinking of students in the SD Negeri Penanggaran 04 educational unit on the material of multiplication of whole numbers using the Japanese-style line multiplication method. The subjects in this research were 34 students. The use of the Problem Based Learning learning model in problem solving methods for students in this research is expected to improve learning outcomes in Mathematics subjects. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method, so that the research process can make it easier for readers to study and examine the processes that occur in this research. The data collection technique used in this research is non-participant observation, in which the researcher is not involved in the activities of the informants under study. After this research was carried out, the results of the research found that the problem based learning model is a learning method that can be applied in grade 4 and can improve student learning outcomes.
