Abstract

Abstract

Electric bicycles have emerged as an efficient, environmentally friendly, and relevant transportation solution for urban communities. This study aims to design a three-wheeled electric bicycle specifically tailored for parcel delivery needs in Bekasi City. With the rise of e-commerce activities, the demand for fast and secure parcel delivery services has significantly increased. However, couriers using conventional motorcycles often face various challenges such as limited cargo capacity, range, and package security issues. Therefore, a three-wheeled electric bicycle is proposed as an innovative solution to address these challenges. This study employs a qualitative method involving in-depth interviews with couriers, logistics agency owners, and e-commerce users in Bekasi City. The results indicate that couriers require electric bicycles with a battery capacity capable of covering a minimum distance of 100-150 km per charge, as well as adequate cargo capacity to carry multiple packages simultaneously. Additionally, the need for a more extensive and easily accessible charging infrastructure also emerged as a key concern. The design proposed in this study includes a three-wheeled electric bicycle with secure and efficient package storage space, equipped with safety features for the rider. The implementation of the three-wheeled electric bicycle is expected to enhance the operational efficiency of parcel delivery, reduce environmental impact, and support the government's efforts in promoting eco-friendly vehicles.

Abstract

Traveling coffee traders are one of the jobs in the informal sector that are very often found in the Jabodetabek area. Traveling coffee traders are also considered as one of the efforts to overcome unemployment by creating their own jobs through entrepreneurship that is cheap to do and often found in any area. Usually, traveling coffee traders use public spaces to sell, such as sidewalks and parks. However, although their existence is often considered to disturb the beauty of the city, many people consider that the existence of traveling coffee traders plays an important role when needed, such as during office breaks, when taking a break while traveling and so on. The use of a multifunctional product will greatly help the smoothness of sales operations carried out by traveling coffee traders. With this new breakthrough, products and services are easier to reach potential consumers widely. Therefore, the idea arose for this research to design a multifunctional vest design for traveling traders who can carry their needs when selling a product and add their own appeal.

Abstract

Endek Bali weaving is a distinctive cultural heritage of Bali that has been increasingly applied to various product design elements, including interior accents and fashion media. While the use of Endek fabric has been applied to various bag accents, the integration of traditional fabrics in chef knife bags is still rare, resulting in monotonous designs. This study aims to design a chef knife bag incorporating the Endek Bali motif as part of a multifunctional product design. The chef knife bag not only functions as a bag for carrying kitchen knives but also as a stand or mat for knives during cooking events. This design uses synthetic leather, which closely resembles real leather but is more affordable and environmentally friendly. By incorporating the Endek Bali motif into this design, it is hoped that it will introduce Balinese culture to the global stage, particularly in the culinary and creative industries. Furthermore, this design offers a practical solution for culinary professionals who need easy-to-carry and functional tools for attending cooking events or competitions. Through this design, it is expected to enhance aesthetic value while supporting the preservation of Indonesian culture.
