Abstract

This study investigates the impact of various dimensions of compatibility on the process integration of the supply chain, which leads toward the improvement of firms operational and market performance. Meanwhile, this study also investigates the mediating effect of information technology capabilities between the relationship of supply chain process integration (SCPI) and firm performance. For this purpose, a survey was conducted via a structured questionnaire using online data collection method from the supply chain and production managers of superstores in Thailand. Total of 395 responses were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the hypotheses. The results proved the key important dimensions of compatibility facilitated SCPI, which contribute to the dynamic capability theory. Moreover, IT capabilities also proved as a key mediator, which have a partial influence on the relationship of SCPI and firm performance. Meanwhile, this study potentially contributes to the existing knowledge of supply chain management and open the new dimensions for future scholars to reveal this concept in detail.

Abstract

Purpose: Main objective of this research is to assess the relation between SCI and risk management capabilities of firms and to focus that how innovation and risk affect financial performance. Methodology: In order to analyze the hypotheses developed in this study, survey method in the form of questionnaire was adopted to collect data from the manufacturing firms of Thailand. The data collected in then analyzed by using different statistical tools including SPSS and AMOS. Findings: Outcomes of research clearly shows that SCI has significant positive impact on the level of risk associated with firms including both robust and resilience risk factors in terms of technological advancements. The results show that these variables are inter-related with each other which means that with the increase in innovativeness, the risk associated with it also increases as a result the financial performance of firms also increases. Implications: The research provides data and an addition in literature related to SC management by investigating the impact of innovation on risk and performance levels of firms. It also provides help to mangers to critically analyze and to make sound decisions related to impacts of technological processes on their Supply chain (SC) practices globally. Novelty: This study is unique in its own perspective because it has focused on the relationship of SC innovation, risk management as well as financial performance altogether of the manufacturing firms that are involved in international levels of SC in Thailand.

Abstract

The main aim of the current study is to analyze the effect of SCC on the large information analysis capability and to analyze the impact of this big data analytics capability on the agility, adaptability and alignment of the supply chain. For this purpose, the current study used RBV as supporting the idea because the idea of RBV suggests that a firm can build its capabilities based on its resources. The data for the current study was collected from 300 employees of manufacturing firms of Thailand through questionnaires and the sample was selected through purposive sampling technique. The analysis and results revealed that SCC has a significant positive role in building big data analytics capability of the firm. Furthermore, it has been found that big data analytics capability enhances the SC qualities to cope with external environment and fluctuations because it significantly positively influences the SCA, adaptability and alignment. The current study and its findings have implications in practice as well as theory because they are expected to make value contributions in both fields.
