Abstract

Development Area Unit A is one of the transmigration development areas which will be developed in South Solok Regency. To see the potential of agricultural land in this area, it is necessary to evaluate the suitability of the land. This study uses a survey method. Determination of sample points using purposive sampling method. The land suitability analysis used the matching method with the help of the SPKL V.2 application. 1. In Land Unit 1 (SL) which covers 18,378 ha, a very suitable commodity (S1) to be developed is Candlenut for a plantation commodity. Meanwhile, oil palm and rubber commodities that are widely planted by the community at this time are only quite suitable (S2) in land units 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7.Food commodities that can be developed in all land units are cassava, sweet potato and taro. at the marginally appropriate level (S3). Vegetable commodities that can be developed are spinach and eggplant at a marginal level (S3) in all land units except land units 4 and 8. Fruit commodities that can be developed are bananas, papaya, avocado, rambutan, guava, durian, star fruit. , melon, duku, cempedak, soursop, sugar apple, salak, sapodilla, longan and pineapple.

Abstract

The increasing area of oil palm plantations (Elaeis guineensis Jacquin) in Indonesia every year creates opportunities for pest that can harm oil palm plantations to develop, one of which is the coconut palm rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinocheros Linnaeus). This research aims to determine the coconut palm rhinoceros beetle population, the percentage of plants attacked, and the intensity of the attack on the planting area Kebun-24 palm plantations of PT. CAS (Cakra Alam Sejati). In this research used a survey method on oil palm plantations Kebun-24. Determination of sample blocks was carried out by purposive sampling and plant samples were selected randomly. The location of the research was carried out in Pelalawan Regency, namely in the Kebun-24 plantation of PT. CAS, Riau Province. The results of the research, the highest population was TBM block with an average of 11.27 coconut palm rhinoceros beetle individuals. The highest coconut palm rhinoceros beetle population was in block 4c (1 year) with 86 imago individuals and 126 larvae individuals, while the lowest population was in block 11a (8 years) with 14 imago individuals and 68 larvae individuals. The highest percentage of affected plants was TM block with an average of 98.67%. The highest attack intensity of coconut palm rhinoceros beetle was TM block with an average of 37.07%. The percentage of affected plants and the highest attack intensity were in block 7b (6 years) with 100% percentage of affected plants and 37.60% attack intensity, while the lowest was block 14b (2 years) with 72.00% percentage of affected plants and 32, 00% attack intensity

Abstract

West Sumatra Province is one of the cocoa production centers in Indonesia. Cocoa farmers in the Lima Puluh Kota District in West Sumatera Province had successfully developed a superior clone of cocoa plants resulting from participatory selection, which was later coded BL-50. The main pests that attack cocoa plants are the urgent problem in cocoa cultivation, resulting in decreased productivity. This study aims to determine the level of significant pest attacks on cocoa varieties BL-50 in Tanah Datar Regency. This research is in the form of a survey with a purposive sampling method. Sampling is carried out systematically diagonally in the field. The highest attack rate of Cocoa Fruit Borer in Tanah Datar Regency is in Rambatan District, with the percentage of affected plants, the percentage of infested fruits, and the highest attack intensity, respectively 51,.25%; 31.58% and 21.10%, the lowest were in Lintau Buo Utara District with 30.93%; 20.70% and 13.96%. The highest attack rate of cocoa fruit-sucking ladybugs in the BL-50 variety is in Rambatan District, 66.09%, 45.07%, and 30.45%. At the same time, the lowest is in the Lintau Buo Utara District, with a percentage value of 41.56%, 27.66%, and 18.30%. Excellent and regular land sanitation activities have played a role in minimizing the level of pest attacks in Lintau Buo Utara.
