Mathematics is the science of logic about shapes, structures, quantities, concepts related to one another with a large amount divided into three fields, namely algebra, analysis, and geometry. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model that can improve student learning outcomes in the material flat area in Class VI SD Negeri 34 Babussalam. The research method used was classroom action research (CAR), which was carried out in two cycles. For data collection, student and teacher activity data is collected by direct observation in the classroom. Student learning outcomes data collected by giving tests to students. The data collected was analyzed in descriptive quantitative. Based on the analysis it was found that the basic score of the average value of students was only 60.3, after an improvement in the first cycle, the average value increased to 73.4, and in the second cycle again increased to 80.3. In terms of students who are complete, in the initial data of students who completed only 13 students or 48.2% while those who did not complete were 14 students or 51.8%. When compared with the first cycle, students who completed in the first cycle were 19 students or 70.3% and students who did not complete as many as 8 students or 29.7. Cycle II, students who completed in cycle II were 22 students or 81.4%, while students who did not complete were 5 students or 18.6%. It can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve student mathematics learning outcomes at SDN 34 Babussalam
