Abstract

Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) is a well-known route optimization problem in which a set of customers is visited only once and all demands are satisfied within single route. Package delivery by a courier company can be considered into this type of problem. While many of the previous research had been conducted, the application of the solutions were limited due to unreal distance measure. This paper developed a decision support system for route optimization using free online maps from Google and Google Maps Application Programming Interface (API). Genetic Algorithm was employed to generate solutions within relatively short time. Furthermore, the solutions was viewed as a function of distance and time. There were some limitations from Google in case of acquiring distance data with the free of charge mechanism. Future research can tackle this backdraw by putting more customer points. Other heuristic methods could also be used for comparison purpose

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kualitas mahasiswa baru yang diterima terhadap prestasi akademik pada program studi Manajemen Logistik Industri Elektronika (MLIE) Politeknik APP. Data yang digunakan adalah nilai hasil seleksi penerimaan mahasiswa baru (PMB) jalur Program Penelusuran Kemampuan Akademik (PPKA) dan tes tulis, serta nilai indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK) tahun pertama. Metode analisis yang dipakai adalah regresi linear berganda untuk menjelaskan korelasi antara nilai PMB dengan IPK. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa korelasi antara nilai PMB dengan IPK mahasiswa bernilai signifikan meski nilai koefisien determinasi tidak terlalu besar (di bawah 0,4). Hal ini menandakan bahwa terdapat faktor lain yang lebih dominan dalam mempengaruhi nilai IPK mahasiswa selain faktor kemampuan awal yang dimiliki. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut perlu dilakukan kajian terhadap aspek selain kualitas mahasiswa baru yang lebih dominan dalam mempengaruhi prestasi akademik mahasiswa di program studi MLIE.Kata kunci: prestasi akademik, kualitas mahasiswa baru, regresi linear berganda  ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the relationship between the quality of new students accepted on academic achievement in the Electronics Industry Logistics Management (MLIE) study program, Polytechnic APP. The data used are the results of the selection of new student admissions (PMB) through the Academic Ability Tracing Program (PPKA) and written tests, as well as the first year's cumulative grade point average (GPA). The analytical method used is multiple linear regression to explain the correlation between the PMB values and the GPA. The results of the analysis show that the correlation between the PMB score and the student's GPA is significant even though the coefficient of determination is not too large (below 0.4). This indicates that there are other factors that are more dominant in influencing students' GPA scores besides the initial ability factors. Based on these results, it is necessary to study aspects other than the quality of new students which are more dominant in influencing student academic achievement in the MLIE study program.Keywords: academic achievement, quality of new students, multiple linear regression
