<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk; (1) mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh, (2) untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap pelaksanaan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah pada pembelajaran matematika di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini disebut penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII.4 yang dipilih dari 6 kelas. Iinstrumen yang digunakan adalah: instrument tes, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, kemampuan guru mengelola pemeblajaran, dan respon siswa.Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statisitik deskriptif. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah: (1) pelaksanaan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah belum efektif di kelas VIII.4 SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh, (2) respon siswa setelah pelaksanaan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah di kelas VIII.4 pada materi gradien termasuk kategori positif Kata Kunci: Model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah, memecahkan masalah This study aims to: (1) describe the implementation of an effective learning model based issues to improve math problem solving eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh, (2) to determine the students response to the implementation model of problem-based learning in mathematics learning in class VIII SMP State 2 Banda Aceh. The study is called experimental research. The population in this study were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. The subjects of this study were selected VIII.4 graders from 6 classes. Iinstrumen used are: instrument testing, observation of student activity sheets, teachers ability to manage pemeblajaran and siswa.Data responses were analyzed using descriptive analysis of the statistics.
