<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Diabetes mellitus tipe II adalah penyakit kronis yang terjadi ketika tubuh tidak dapat memproduksi cukup insulin atau tidak dapat menggunakan insulin secara efektif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian rebusan daun sirih merah terhadap kadar gula darah pasien DM Tipe II. Jenis penelitian adalah Pre Experiment dengan desain One-Group Pre-Test-Post-Test yang dilaksanakan pada bulan September – Desember 2017. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh penderita diabetes mellitus tipe II di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Kumun Kota Sungai Penuh Kerinci. Teknik sampling adalah Purposive Sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 16 orang. Data diolah menggunakan t-test independent. Hasil penelitian didapatkan rata-rata kadar gula darah pada penderita diabetes mellitus tipe II sebelum diberikan rebusan daun sirih merah adalah 254.62 mg/dL. Rata-rata kadar gula darah pada penderita diabetes mellitus tipe II sesudah diberikan rebusan daun sirih merah adalah 188.75 mg/dL. Terdapat pengaruh pemberian rebusan daun sirih merah terhadap perubahan kadar gula darah pada pasien DM Tipe II. Kata kunci : Daun Sirih Merah; Kadar Gula Darah; DM Tipe II ABSTRACT Type II diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs when the body cannot produce enough insulin or cannot use insulin effectively. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving red betel leaf decoction to blood sugar levels of Type II DM patients. This type of research is Pre Experiment with the design of One-Group Pre-Test-Post-Test conducted in September-December 2017. The population in this study were all patients with type II diabetes mellitus in the Kumun City River Health Center Full Area in Kerinci. The sampling technique is purposive sampling with a total sample of 16 people. Data is processed using an independent t-test. The results showed that the average blood sugar level in patients with type II diabetes mellitus before being given a decoction of red betel leaf was 254.62 mg / dL. The average blood sugar level in patients with type II diabetes mellitus after being given a decoction of red betel leaf is 188.75 mg / dL.
